Lady Of Port Lairge 16/1 - Kilbeggan 5.10 - missed a handicap hurdle debut and was sent novice chasing the day after with no success and she was swiftly pulled up after a couple of jumping errors in Tramore. She's back to the scene of her maiden hurdle win here now and the form lines of those she conquered give some optimism that she may play a hand in a finish if non the worst for her exertions lto, in fact I'd be confident she's a fair few lbs ahead still. The jockey booking is a unknown quantity but if she can handle it the 7lb claim is always worth having a go with.

Seven Nation Army 4/1 Kilbeggan 6.40 - Another Henry De Bromhead runner going for a beginners chase after some frustrating 2nd's over hurdles recently. Chasing pedigree doesn't jump off the page but to use that old cliché, HDB is usually fairly good at knowing which ones are ready to go and win over the large ones...looks solid if he can jump a clean round.

    Enjoy your Friday lads <ok>

I was reading yesterday how Anne and Alan Potts have taken all their runner out of De Bromhead's yard and distributed them amongst other trainers. Anyone know why? Old boy Henry seems to be taking it quite well though .......................

Potts is a right prick from what I'm told so Henry probably glad to see the back of him! He'll probably get a few more horses from GTown now so I suspect he'll be ok.

Reasonably good trainer so I hope he's supported. Must be hard to get top class animals nowadays if you're based in Ireland because any new owner with cash to spend will, you'd imagine, go to Mullins first, then Elliott. The rest must pick up the scraps. If i wanted to land some gambles i'd send mine to Pat Fahey. You always get a decent price on his and he lands the spoils whenever he's plotted one up.

Agreed Bob. Fair play to Gigginstown, they try and spread their talent around although they do seem to be getting very keen on Elliot - for reasons I don't understand. Mullins seems to be turning into Ricci's personal trainer so maybe Gigginstown are starting to focus more on Elliot? I think Jessica Harrington does very well with her string, considering she trains largely for the less powerful owners. If I had a horse I'd probably want it in her yard.

I think they spread them round to limit risk of poor form, illness etc in one particular yard. That and they seem to like to support as many yards as they can.

I read recently though that they've taken all theirs away from a few under performers. At the end of the day you have to get results and with fewer races in Ireland that is a tough task for anyone to have.

2 no shows. Lady of Port Làirge won a warm maiden and has since been tailed off and pulled up. Something amiss. Seven Nations Army never jumped well enough and also tailed off. Maybe Henry's form has been of concern for the Pott's...strange to say the least.

Nice run by Invoke. Well done Uncle. Went off like a scalded cat and wasn't for passing.

I'm going to chance one more to try save face and Down Under @ 10/1 in the 7.10 @ Kilbeggan is the one. Routed them here lto, this tougher but must go close.

I was going to take a chance on Rhythm and Blues @13/2 but given the form you're in at the moment I think singles on both and reverse forecast
