They set the rules at Arnheim.....wouldn't let them increase our allocation despite loads of empty seats. Could of gave us whole end, so segregation wasn't an issue.
I went to an Inter league game last April. We bought tickets at the ground the day before the match and sat amongst the home fans for the game. There may well be a neutral zone but at no point was it mentioned when buying the tickets. We had to show our passports when buying the tickets and when we arrived at the ground for the match. We didn't actually take them to the match but managed to blag our way in. I doubt you could do this when Saints play.
This is my thinking, there are plenty of people who have attended league games there when they're quite obviously neutral. Don't know how happy they'll be about it when you're quite clearly not though.
Just caught up on this on the guardian football podcast - under their new Chinese ownership Inter have spent close to 100 million this window and have not taken much in. As a result they're way beyond the Uefa financial fair play threshold. One of the ways that clubs can avoid the punishments for going beyond the limit is to omit players from the European squads so their transfer expenses do not count as being part of this season.
Just booked tickets in the neutral zone on viagogo.it It's a risk as to whether we'll be let in (I guess), but tickets are on there for anyone interested
Bugger!! Been waiting on getting internet at home and haven't ordered my bundle for the games. Managed briefly to get on yesterday and found that my seat has gone So now I'm trying to call the ticket office to see if all the games have gone or just some and what nearest seat I can get. Bloody hell - first (and last) time I call them! Kept hanging for 5 mins then cut off twice! Calling 0845 688 9288 as per my season ticket (so no doubt a nice earner for someone). Is there a better number to call?
It seems legit. The tickets i looked into which looked to be part of the Southampton end asked for your contact information to go on the ticket. Interestingly on the official inter milan site you're not yet able to purchase tickets for the Southampton game. they're only available as part of a bundle but then this is the murky world of ticket sales Also it looks like the top tiers of the San Siro will be closed for the group stages. I don't know how much that reduces the capacity by.
Yep, I got asked for my details as well. In in the red zone, which I think is neither home nor away. I didn't even see away tickets! Gutted.
From looking on the inter website, away fans are in the middle tier of the Sud stand behind the goal and that website was selling tickets in that section. How they get tickets for the away section when they're not officially on sale yet I don't know. Perhaps someone with a greater knowledge of how ticket agents work would know.
Just to keep Saints on their toes - our Europa opponents haven't lost yet this season! Prague W4 D1 Inter W1 D1 Sheva W1 D1
It's going to be a very difficult group. Sounds silly but the way the fixtures are set out the first 2 games are vital. Need at least one win out of that for me
