Good Morning Everyone, The transfer window slammed shut last night.... but not everyone got out! Bamba, Dave and Murphy were all expected to leave, however, either nobody was interested or the right offers did not come forward. Leeds managed to complete the signing of attacking midfielder Eunan O'Kane from Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee but the problem that Leeds now have is that they will have 12 midfielders on their books until the new year. There was a little confusion moments before the deadline as Mali International Amadou Haidara claimed to have joined Leeds. please log in to view this image More to follow on that one as we get it...
We didn't get rid of the club footed lipstick painter either. The training ground is going to be like a fecking war zone with all the surplus to requirements ****e stirring it up. Just what we need in our now certain relegation fight. NOT!
Heyho, morning all. We held on to Taylor, which is good newa. Did we get another forward? We did, however, get another midfielder. Yippeedoo
Pleased with O'Kane as he and Bridcutt will be great in tandem. Pissedoff about a top striker though as Lambert would have been fantastic in this league. Yes he's 34 and hardly scored recently, but not payed has he. You dont go from scoring for Liverpool when selected, and being in the England team to a shyte player. Pullis uses strikers as lone workhorses. Crouch will get the golden boot in this league but again he will not play in the premiership anymore or for any team. A loan would be fantastic but now have to wait until January and hope Wood changes his luck. Out of interest and truthfully, I think Becchio would have scored at least 3 more goals than wood given those chances wood fluffed. 3 more goals would mean a big difference in our points tally. I was calling for a midfielder, we got one. Not sure O'Kane is exactly the type of midfielder we needed though, having said that I don't know much about the lad so we'll see. If O'Kane turns out decent then we have got at least two thirds of the first team sorted which imo. considering the squad we have had for the last few years it is progress. Only questionable positions would be left winger and striker (if we played 4-2-3-1), although Roofe or Antonsson could solve the striker issue I feel if Wood does fail to get his confidence back.
Another window of quantity over quality, hope Monk can get them performing. I find it amazing how we failed to land a striker, it's not like we didnt have the time. More of a case Cellino has no money. Not impressed. #cellinoout
it quiet this morning... Everyone must having a lie in after partying long into the night celebrating the great new signings we so badly needed joining us.
Morning all. Love to see the way Taylor and his blood sucking agent were treated. **** them. At least now Taylor might do a bit of growing up and realize he may not be the best left back in Britain at this moment. Well done Cellino for once again doing the opposite of what Bates would have done
I hate Cellino but fair play on the Talyor situation. Underwhelming deadline day and I'm not sure about this Bournemouth lad. Hopefully I'm wrong but he struggled to get in their Championship promotion team.
I agree with much of what you say, especially about Cokio but, I really hope our players don't give up as quickly as you have because then a relegation battle does become a certainty
morning all for those of us that watched the day unfold yesterday apart from the banter it was all pretty drab
we all said we needed the midfield improving, monk says he has done that,Glory knows better, having never seen the player play he knows everything about him.An expert whose never seen him play and then calls LL names for doing the same with match reports doh.
Good afternoon all. So the window has closed and where do we stand ? Loads of new players which is good as we were obviously going nowhere with last seasons squad. My concern though is 5 players on loan and what will be their mindset come January if things are not working out. Add to that the 3/4 players who were not offloaded and you can see problems ahead unless results pick up quickly. Which is why if they don't there will be the inevitable change of coach as it's the only way to reinvigorate the whole squad. The next 2 home games are absolutely vital for how the season will go. We desperately need at least one win and and avoid defeat in the other. If we lose both then Monk will be one game from the sack. That's how ludicrous things have become. The football might be prosaic at times but you can never think that supporting Leeds is dull. To me a long time ago it became a massive soap opera but it's real life not a fictional story like Eastenders etc. Promotion dreams dashed, relegation fears, plots, sub plots, heroes, villains, an ever changing cast of characters, conspiracies, fraud, theft, imprisonments this is not just football this is bloody brilliant.
