Regarding Hernandez and Villa, it struck me, knowing the Chinese a little bit having been there many times, that there is an intence rivalry between them, and would guess that our prospective owners wouldn't let one of our better players go to another Chinese owner.
I didn't mean appoint MP till Xmas , I mean if he gets the gig use thetime till transfer window in Jan to assess the situation, that should be enough time for everyone to have an opinion , as someone moving from caretaker to full manager it's not unreasonable to think more short term
According to one report I read today....we turned down £14 million plus up to £6 million in add ons......yet the next line of the report stated that personal terms were the issue & could not be agreed ?? Surely you cannot discuss personal terms unless a transfer is agreed ?? From Aston Villa.com Aston Villa have failed in their attempts to sign Hull City striker Abel Hernandez. Pat Murphy from the BBC says that a move will not happen with personal terms causing a move to fall through for the Uruguayan. Hernandez had been rumoured to be close to a £14 million plus £6 million in add ons move but now that seemingly is off. Talk of a move had rumbled on for sometime with owner Dr Tony Xia revealing the £20 million deal had been knocked back by the Premier League side.
I just wonder what is going through his mind now, if he had stuck it out with new owners coming in etc. Probably ruing the decision he made.
Not sure we'll ever find out exactly what went on - but I don't think they trusted Brucie to spend wisely
I get the feeling that he didn't want to go, but because Villa was pushing, his agent seems have put in a very high demand of wages, which if they had accepted he might have gone, as he would have been financially a lot better off.
Steve Bruce held this club together for two years. Can't see him coming back, football isn't like that. Think the Zola, Coleman, Martinez fiasco made the Allams realise what a leper they've turned our club into. Inept, vindictive, vain, selfish, thin-skinned, foolish, deceitful, mendacious people.
It is a bit worrying that we accepted a bid for him. He obviously wanted to speak to them and if they paid him what he wanted, he'd be gone... That tells me he's not bothered about playing for us, or playing in the premier league.. its about money..
Maybe we let him talk to them along the lines if it is better than what we offer you, good luck to you. I guess it wasn't, so he should be happy he has been allowed to talk to them to see their offer.
Until 6pm today would you have been overly keen to stay at a club who had signed nobody and likely to be relegated, or go to a club in championship, where you will score dhed load of goals and a mega pay deal? I think now he has seen some transfers coming in his mind might be changed
Yeah totally agree, i think he may have now thought twice maybe. He has never looked like he is a want away player.
