Is it really any different to Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham .......they are effectively foreign (well as foreign as Glasgow or Celtic) yet they are allowed into the English leagues !!

I say let them in, but they start at the bottom & work the way up

there is long historic precedent with the welsh clubs plus no history of a top standard welsh league. berwick and gretna played in the scottish league on proximity considerations. celtic and rangers playing in the english leagues potentially jeopardises too much.

They're in the process of talking about a 'North Atlantic League' anyway ... Scotland, Belgium, Holland, Scandinavia .......

Gretna actually is in Scotland though. That's why they play in the Scottish League. They played in the English leagues because they couldn't get accepted into the Scottish Football League set up (I think I remember reading somewhere that it was full, they only joined in 2002 because Airdrieonians were ejected).

you're right. i just checked airdeionians and they went out of business. some messiness and underhandedness meant airdrie united replaced clydebank in the league.
