I have a few choices that the wife isn't keen on for when I reach tha age (years to go yet ) 1. Travel to Argentina to see Boca v River Plate and then a wine tour. 2. Spend a few days on this remote Ireland just off the north side of the Dingle peninsular, west Ireland, near where my wife's cousin lives. It is 100 yards long, with one house and no power. You take wood/coal and supplies when you're dropped off and that's it. 3. Anywhere I can see a whale shark.
Happy Birthday, Fats. Just seen a quote about age from Bill Bryson. He says he is now too old for early onset dementia....if he gets it now, it has arrived right on time.
Well he said he didn't understand a word I said in the car the other week so thought it was fitting...
3 very different things - Argentina sounds like it would be a blast, Ireland could well turn out to be you huddling in a darkened building waiting for the storm to finish finally, and whale shark watching is just an excuse for a sunny holiday in Mexico or the Arabian gulf/Indian ocean (nothing wrong with that by the way) It would be the big fish for me FLT, awesome beasts, however I think I'd go to Australia to see them, given a choice. Argentina would be the next choice from your options. My mate is an airline pilot and gets me cheap seats sometimes so I might try and wangle a Tokyo trip if I can. £129 was what it cost me to fly to New York with him (in Upper class) and Tokyo would be the same...or Shanghai, or Joburg...I'd better get busy planning something now as I've only got till November. Back on topic, great news about Boufal signing
Being afraid of the sea I don't think the whale shark idea would be ideal for me so id go for the wine tasting all day long!! Happy birthday FLT!
