I think the system we use makes a lot of sense for a lot of sense for a lot of PL scenario's. Lallana behind Firmino is great for the high press, fast turen around and counter, with Mane and Coutinho then becoming our main attacking threat. It work wonders against Arsenal, missed Mane v Burnley and was wasteful but creative against Spurs. Wijnaldum I think is still settling and feeling his way in. He has not done any thing wrong yet but is yet to show his full ability. I think Wijnaldum will essentially take up a Frank Lampard kind of role, making forward and late runs from midfield, playing through balls and scoring goals. Top teams need a goal threat in CM, hopefully Wijnaldum will be that. Its still early days. A fully fit Can will improve our midfield defensively, as well as the teams over all balance. Once our defensive spine of Karius, Lovren, Matip and Can settle our counter attacking prowess should shine better. Clyne is very reliable but LB is a huge concern. A LB like Hector or Rodriguez could be worth every penny of the Benteke money, as the LB area is currently costing us points. Alternatively we could approach Coentrao for a loan deal. - Against weaker teams though we should wack Sturridge or Origi upfront WITH Firmino. 442 or 41212.
It is til lallana runs out of steam early. I agree off the ball wijnaludm hasn't done too much badly, he's worked ver yhard v spurs for example. but o nthe ball he's non existant so far. I agree. get can in there, move henderson to run about for 90 (not 60 like lallana) and then get one of the two mentioned above to play in the 3. Deffo. I would have taken the money and I'm sure most. But maybe he just really loves it there he is near his home and standard of living is a lot less and he doesnt get 50% tax so its not really 5x the amount.

I think you are being over critical. He chose Red Bull Salzburg for an academy and turned down Bayern back then. All the decisions he seems to make have him at the centre and you cannot fault him. He rejected City when he learned of them wanting to loan him off immediately. He has rejected a massive pay rise to Liverpool as you say as he is guaranteed at least 6 CL games with his boyhood team. Sterling took a massive wage increase and was vilified by the same Liverpool fans saying his attitude is bad for not taking money.That makes him less of a merc. If anything, I admire his resolve to stay. Alternatively he looks at Liverpool and sees the number of player in his position and the fact that we do not have Europe then his match days are limited. He is talented and very young and will get an even bigger contract next season. He is considered one of the best talents to emerge from the Croatian youth teams so watch him go become even better than Modric.
