Not sure if it'd win but it'd definitely challenge. Would also get us into the QFs of CL (as I think we can win our group and get a favourable draw).
I actually think it's been a good transfer window. In the last few years I've been left very excited about one particular player but frustrated that overall we haven't strengthened in the required areas. This year I'm left not particularly excited about any one player but happy that we have addressed our obvious weaknesses. Whether the players purchased manage to meet expectations is yet to be seen but they are in the exact positions fans wanted strengthened as a priority. Mustafi and Xhaka are of the kind of quality we hoped we would sign and address obvious gaps in the squad. Perez is more of an unknown and we will have to wait and see if he makes the cut. If we are actually looking to get another wide player in, and Wengers comments re the last few days of the window suggested we might not be finished if the right deal can be done, then it could turn out to be a very good window. Let's not be too hasty to judge.
#madness is supposed to be Griesman - now if that was to happen in the final few days this would be an amazing bit of business !
Probably one of our best transfer windows in some time as we've addressed squad requirements across the board. It should make us more stronger overall and a bit more competitive. But it's to be seen whether the signings are good enough to make us competitive for the title. In my opinion no, we are still missing a striker who can score 20-25 goals and propel us to the title. It's become more difficult this season with all other top teams strengthening with new managers and players. We will have our work cutout.
Not the most inspiring window ever but given we've actually signed some players it's quite surprising. Centre half - job done. Still not convinced we'll be that solid as that comes with training, tactics and cohesion and we're pretty poor at those under Wenger it appears. We're always capable of getting overrun. CM - job done as long as Wenger stops shoehorning his love child Ramsay into the team. Coquelin I've not seen be that good for a while now. One season flash in the pan? Xhaka and Cazorla need to start together, none of this rotation nonsense to appease all 74 midfielders AW has accrued over the years. Cf - job not done. We've still not addressed the biggest weakness we've had for years and that's at centre forward. I really can't see Perez as anything other than a panic buy to bulk out the squad and appease those who say he doesn't spend. He may do a Vardy and I'll eat my words but I doubt it. No clue why Wenger signed him when he's almost 28 when he could have had Embolo for near enough the same price.
Guilem Balague claiming Perez will be a Top signing. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-top-signing-for-arsenal-says-guillem-balague
Our transfer business is done, in terms of players coming in, the outs will be interesting. Chambers will probably go out on loan, and even though it's unlikely, hope we flog Walcott.
I just watched a Lucas Perez video on YouTube and he scored with every shot he took. His conversion rate must be high.
Wenger has pissed on the cry baby's fire, but they will still invent faux reasons to hate him regardless of whether Perez scores 50 goals a season. Haters gonna hate - ****ers gonna ****
I'm glad that we've bought players in all the positions we actually needed strengthening for once. Xhaka looks like a great signing, Holding has done excellently so far, so lets hope he can continue his form/improvement. We've now got a big squad with plenty of depth abd options in all positions which is nice. But unless Perez has an amazing Vardy type season or turns into a Viera/Carzola type great signing then it is still a bit of a disappointing window so far as our attack still won't cone close to our rivals.
