I don't think there is an "after" this year Stan. I believe they've shut the emergency loan system loophole. Any business, permanent or loans have to be done by Wednesday night. Not sure about free transfers though?
He was brilliant in his first season at Watford but has been disappointing since. As you say, we'd have paid £15 million and he'd have been shyte...
This brings us right back to the Washington debate, we are now cutting our cloth in line with our finances and we paid £3m [allegedly] for him. Can we expect more from a £3m striker when clubs are paying 10 or twenty times that? Personally, I think he will come good given more game time, but it won't first time I've been wrong. I am actually more concerned about El Khayati, apart from that goal against Charlton last season he hasn't impressed.
What about Luongo,he's a regular starter for the Australian national team ! He scored quite a few for Swindon as a box to box midfielder, since he's come to us he's only had a couple of decent games and he still hasn't scored a single goal !
I have to admit that I like Luongo, he works hard and has something about him. As for goals, I don't know if he played a different role for Swindon than he does for us.
To me the jury is still out on the following players. They may well improve and become good purchases but, at the moment, I have serious doubts that they were value for money and add genuine quality to our squad. Luongo Washington El Khayati Ng - can't spell his name, the French winger Perch
Perch got us two points yesterday Fingy....look at the highlights...no idea how he stopped Wigan from scoring in the last minute....Perch is beginning to look ok... far too early to comment on Yeni, who has looked ok after only 2-3 matches with the team I would say. Luongo has had a couple of outstanding matches and looks to me like a new Ale Faulin...no complaints from me about Luongo.
Fair enough Beth on Yeni. I was a little disappointed with him against Preston. I just thought he was going to be better. Everybody was disappointing against Preston. Regarding Luongo, I have seem so many people say what a good player he is and he did play well against Leeds. Against Preston, he was really poor. As I said, these players may prove good purchases with time. I didn't see Perch's clearance but I will take your word for it. I really haven't seen him play one decent game for us Beth. Again, I hope that will change.
Agree with that Finglas, haven't seen anything of Ngbakoto to make a judgement. Not a Perch fan personally, but will accept Beth's comment.
Work in progress - to me the ones I am concerned about at the mo are Cousins and El Khayati. The letter in particular has had enough time to stake a claim for a starting place. He seems to be happy with 10-15 minutes a week but it's early days yet.
Just a point worth mentioning, Luongo has made more tackles this season than any other Championship player and his defensive qualities are certainly an asset. If he can add some goals to his game he'll be top drawer...
Just seen that Forest have sold Ollie Burke to Red Bull Leipzig for £13 million, sums up their ambitions. Their fans must be well pissed off...
If someone offered £13m for Chery I'd expect the club to take it. I wouldn't be delighted but not apoplectic with rage either.
Transfer News@TransferNews62 QPR are in talks with Brighton over a loan move for winger Kazenga Lualua. #QPR #BHAFC Please tell me this is not the same bloke who scored past us in that 4-0 cup game for Colchester about 100 yrs ago?
Yep that's him Ellers. Thought he was older than 25 unless I've got it wrong, can't see Brighton loaning to us.
