On MOTD2 at 1215, Mark Chapman asked Keown, Savage and A N Other journo, if Curtis Davies had done enough to get a call up to Large Samuel's England squad. Question was chiefly asked to Savage, who clearly didn't know who Curtis was, so he blustered about John Terry's possible call up. Another subtle example of 'othering' of clubs like City, Burnley, Borough, Bournemouth. There is the unwritten rule: top 4 only please (plus dear old Liverpool) in the discussion, but if you want to appear 'democratic' then mention Sperz and West Ham. Provincials need not apply.
After Millwall played up in the FACup, Humbs Poliss said that Sweeney Todd were going to feeling collars in London and not them So fair to assume that Jack Frost might be doing the same in Manchester?
No thank you. Big yes, but not at that price. We don't want to see this club become a **** magnet, with a starstruck quiet crowd. We can only hope the new owners get sound advice on managing relations between the club and the city as a whole. The last lot have actually shrunk our following and alienated noisy core supporters. The balance inside the ground has been tipped in favour of 'customers' over fans, and that needs to be redressed. The concept of Fortress KCOM is not just on the pitch, it's the whole ****ing stadium.
You've missed my point and replaced it with a separate one of your own. Well done. Club / city relations has got nothing to do with attracting the fair weather fans. I'm all for getting back our loyal fan base, but I will take the hanger ons on top! All helps.
No idea what you mean! Loyal fans are boycotting at the moment so it's a matter of perspective if loyal can mean staying away?
We can't attract the 'loyal' ones, so we've established they are (were) clueless ****s. Just take a look at Hudds/Bradford C (for example) about 'locking in' fans for the long term. Get the used to supporting their local club, not pimping the club as the local also ran team playing a Big Team to try and boost sales. There is little evidence that the Allams had any kind of medium or long term strategy about al of this. They regarded their 'customers' as 'suppliers'. Hence their downfall.
A handful of people claim to be boycotting matches - I certainly wouldn't call them " fans" and certainly not "loyal". The rest of us (20,000+) are all "lily-livered" fans who have the temerity to go along & support our team. Shame on us!!
And you're expecting what..... a round of applause....!!!! A.... for Waggy's a Jolly Good Fellow..!!!
