Agents will be well aware of our situation/predicament. We are ripe for extortion. Whilst I utterly dislike the Allams, if they're handling negotiations with Mason et al. I still don't want the club to run roughshod over and perhaps we should be open minded to the possibility that agents/players are asking for ridiculous wages to come here rather than it just being down to their ineptitude/intransigence. It's rightly difficult to be this open minded but it's highly likely this is a factor.
This is happening across the board, exacerbated by the new influx of tv cash. Something will have to give though, probably at the top of the market. There is usually a chain reaction in the last days of the window.
We need; Goalkeeper Right Back Centre Back Defensive Midfielder Attacking Midfielder (possibly 2) Pacey Striker Strong Target Man Striker
The norwegian kid from alkmaar looks like a no 10 from what I've seen. There also appears to be movement on strikers with a fallback option of Nikolic.
Marshall and the Norweigian. Fingers crossed we can sort Mason out. Then erm another three. Defender X 2 and a striker
So we've not signed a striker then. They've been trying to sort these deals for at least a week. Thats been generous. How much money are they going to save with a 16 man squad than a 25 man squad?
There are some half wits on here posting **** about stuff they really know nothing about. The new owners have obviously come here to pillage all the money and run. Either that or we are having the same difficulty we encounter every year when we try and tempt players to a back end location at a bottom end league club. You can fling cash at some players but they have options usually and it's not always the wages... Patience. We aren't here to out bid everyone and go broke trying.
I'd be surprised if we get in 8 players but we look to have gk and attacking midfielder/forward incoming. There will be a couple of loans too with walker-peters and miazga mentioned on twitter as defensive cover.
Pulis I honestly think we will spent a fair few bob in the next 48 hours, cant see the new owners splashing out 100m+ to see city relegated.
It would be daft to sign off on nikolic if we think we can get a better value elsewhere. He looks to be waiting in the background though.
It's widely quoted that we have a budget That doesn't mean you can spend it. People still need to want to come. Bruce was a big factor in attracting some players. It's not all about having £. I think the management are as eager as the fans to spend on the right people.
I dont think we will be far off that list. I still thimk wenhave a decent chance with Mason (he is rightly exploring his options, I certainly would in his position). Marshall and the midfielder from AZ are almost in too. I think Kanu-Robson might still come to us, along with Kanoute (from Sion). Add to that a full back and centre half (chambers on loan plus another) and we are nearly there
Wenger and Billic both publicly acknowledging difficulties getting deals done in the last few days. Robson-kanu will be going to a lower-end prem or top FLC club but he's stated this will be after the window.
Maybe suspend your pissing and moaning until Thusday, when we'll know if you've actually got anything to be pissing and moaning about.
Maybe Phelan can open the door for a few Man Utd loanees, funny to see the ones going on about poodles and bet wetters doing exactly that on here. Im Phelan good myself
