And there in lies part of the solution.

You find problems to overcome, which have not changed since we moved into the stadium in 14 years ago.

14 years to start trying to find a solution.

If Walton Street is closed to traffic while everyone exits the car park, it can be directed by stewards, you don't need coppers doing it.

The club can even take control of the traffic lights outside the ground as long as they get council permission (it's been done at Craven Park).

It's done at loads of places lambo. Just easier to say how we can't do it, rather than how we can.

I was pointing out what won't be done.

There are loads of ways to do it. Most will cost, and that's the crux of it. The club will have to pay for the fixes and any staffing.

And it's not high on the agenda in relation to most other things at the moment!

one of the reasons I stopped using Walton street is no one takes a blind bit of notice of the stewards( that's if there's any around) its a free for all.

I assume you mean closing to traffic entering from either end ?

Still wouldn't help much when the lights onto Anlaby Road are at red & why should non football fans get held up by the club controlling the lights

Personally I'm happy to see the chaos......the club & the council should be doing their utmost to ensure that home & away fans from outside the City or any distance from the ground use the Park & Ride/public transport & that those close enough walk.

Don't get quite the same numbers at Caravan Park though.....most RL fans are local. How often do they get 17k let alone 25k.....plus not being City Centre it impacts less non related traffic

Maybe create a post match attraction r event that would help stagger the clamour for the cars . . There's plenty of west park left to think up something that may help pass the time if you are in no rush to leave

    They charge a fiver a fu6king car!

    Say 750 cars? 19 games a season.

To coin a phrase, where's the money gone? Certainly not on tarmac.

It's about the principal of managing the traffic to empty the car park quickly, the numbers at Craven Park are irrelevant when it comes to whether a similar principal should be adopted at Walton Street. Many grounds close roads to empty stadium traffic quickly and we should be doing the same.

Though not until all the corporates have got out, obviously.

The biggest issue is the lights and restrictions on the main roads out, and it's an expensive headache to get close to a re

What business making money decides to increase costs massively to fix a problem that will not increase revenue?

Ah right, didn't know you knew how much the massive costs are? Could you share with me how much they are?

To sort the surface of the car park longish term with a decent tarmac surface would cost a fortune.......just repairing a mile of motorway with a new surface currently costs around £2 million

Staff costs, insurance, paying the council to change road signs, training stewards, etc.

Not just a tin of paint and some volunteers pointing on different directions and wearing yellow.

We stopped using the car park years ago and while the council have a cash cow why should they spend any money on it? the only thing that will change it is if you hit them where it hurts. Stop using it - lost revenue will force them to do something positive

every other ground manages it - I go to every away match and getting out of Walton Street is the worst if you're slightly late getting back to your car
