Are we over exaggerating the quality and it might be easier than expected? Just watched MOTD and - yes it's highlights - but again some of these teams look ****e. Palace, Bornmuff, Sunderland, Southampton, Watford all look much poorer than us so far.

Sunderland are full of medicore mercenaries with a big squad with no spirit. Fans will soon be onto the playersand Moyes cant sheild them like Big Sam did

    Boro are same as Sunderland

manage Deeney and his mate and watford look average

WBA are in a similar position to us (no real signings of note), dont seem balance

Bournemouth seem to have done what we did ala second season syndrome and try big names (or at least big fees)

as long as we bring in half a dozen players with anbit of quality and a lot of spirit I think we could end the season reasonably safe.

WB and Boro... afraid to score afraid to concede... I am very pleased to say that we are better than at least 5 of those mentioned and that with the famous 13...

Stoke don't look all that good this season, last couple of games Shawcross looks like he's forgot how to play football.

Another striker to take the pressure off Hernandez is key, the fella from AZ + 1 more midfielder (giving us 3 from 5 in centre-mid), keep Livermore where he is (giving us 4 good centre-halves), Marshall and Jakupovic sort out the keeping situation, then we are just looking at cover for the wide positions.
4 signings is a minimum, 6 would give us a bit of depth and options. We are lucky in having discovered Clucas and Livermore can be equally effective in a couple of positions, but yeah, the likes of Palace, Boro, Sunderland don't look anything special

    Agreed.

The nucleus of our squad as it stands is extremely competitive with any team outside the top 8.

And that's without Dawson and Dave.

I've been out for the afternoon, but I glanced at Twitter for the score and saw someone describe the first half as 'more boring than watching the first series of Last Of The Summer Wine round at your grandparents'.

They all do look much worse than us at the moment.
I hope we can keep this spirit and togetherness throughout the season !

Did anyone see Sunday Supplement today. Kamara highlighted a situation in the Liverpool Spurs game yesterday. Liverpool had a corner, Milner took it and as the ball was in the air (in play) near the box Maddly blew his whistle. On the film Vertonggen had rugby tackled Matip in the box and instead of giving a penalty as they had been instructed to do, he gave Vertonggen a telling off about holding and had the corner re-taken.

I would suggest a team that battles its way out of the bottom 3 every season has good team spirit?

I didn't exaggerate the quality, likely the same for some others here. The problem has been the small squad, with that rectified I don't see why we would be the overwhelming favourites to go down as we have been. Also the word coming from the Allams about not spending money and the uncertainty over the takeover didn't help the image of the club either.
