I reckon Pickfords goalkeeping is at least on a par with Vitos and his distribution`s better. Just my opinion of course. I assume this Stryjek lad`s moved up to take Pickfords place in the babbies team. No idea how good he is but it`s a hell of a step up to the bench from there.
As others have said I'd rather see Pickford get a run, he has all the abilities to be a solid premiership goalkeeper
It not a step up to the bench its a sit down Seriously it would be a massive step up, but only if he was asked to play.
You are Gordon Armstrong and I claim my £10. Hopefully he never be called upon but, as backup, he has to be capable if he is. Otherwise we may well not bother with a spare and an outfield player can hoy the shirt on. Come to think of it, Quinny did that didn`t he? Decent keeper iirc.
John O'Shea is the only player in man Utd history to haveplayed in all positions for man utd - Goal, RB, LB, CD, RM, LM, CM, CF! Played in the lot!! Canny keeper as well - although he's injured too at the moment!
We`ve barely got enough outfield players to play outfield. Any idea what sort of standard this Stryjek lad`s at?
Very highly rated by the club - what a name too - Maksymilian! I haven't seen himj play though. May see him at QPR (although I won;t be going!)
I would take Joe Hart in a second, he would greatly improve us and would be great for Pickford to learn from.
As I said on the other thread - not worth £5m+ for a season is he? I don;t know which joe hart you've watched vegas but it can;t be the same one I've watched over the past 3 seasons!
As posted on the other thread, we would not be paying all his wages. You have your opinion I have mine. City did not conceed many goals last season and their best defender was injured for most of it.
Won't ever try to change anyone's opinion fella - If he signs for us I hope he proves me wrong (apparently we're favourites to sign him!)
He wouldn't come to Sundland anyway imo. Having said that i don't think going abroad would help him much.
He had nothing to do with the only thing they actually won last season. Mannone had a better saves to goal ratio than Hart did last season. He punches everything. He has no dandruff though.
Can`t see him being interested tbh. He`ll want top billing and longer than the stop gap we`re looking for. It`s backup for Pickford we need if Stryjek`s not up to it. Can`t see Hart wanting anything to do with that idea.
Exactly. Moyes is good at youth development mate, he's got a good record for it. Makes more sense to me to give the lad a shot if he's that good, that's what kids wait for, one shot, one chance to prove they're good. When's he gonna get that shot if not now?
One interesting thing in the conference is that he referred to Pickford (the way I heard it) as a senior keeper and Stryjek as a "young keeper" (he said we only have a young keeper behind Pickford) so he's not giving him an excuse and he's obviously placed his trust in him. Good management IMO
Listening to the interview and reading grandpops transcript I got the impression DM was careful to stressed Pickford to get his chance and we would need another GK but very careful to never mention Joe Hart. So, as I think most of us want to see, a back up GK. Joe Hart is a good keeper but drops too many clangers and that behind a good defence. We would give him too many chances to drop one.
