Great game and result, and great team selection by Franco. I see Hoorne edging out Fernandez in no time at all, this boy looks very promising. McBurnie must be on the bench for the Leicester game, as for Lorente he is not fit enough in my view, which was his problem at his last club, still early days, but he is not our main Striker..... <ok>

Good post this one , Llorente must get fit and Van Der Hoorn must get minutes . And Mc Burnie seems to have a nose for a play .

Just got home. A very good first half and we should hzve been out of sight. McBurnie took his goals well but also missed a couple of good chances as did Dyer when through on a 1 to 1. Taylor showed some good and bad bits of form so I cant see him starting on Saturday.
I actually tthought Llorente played well when he came on and was alway making himself available and held the ball well but more often than not received no immediate support. He did miss one good chance but he will continue to create chances for others in games to come.
Also worth mentioning a couple of good saves in the 2nd half.
At centre back I thought the starting pair of Amat and Van der Hoorn worked well and I would be tempted to start with those two on Saturday as Fernandez looks a bit off his game to me.

You do realise that Llorente has won the Champions League and the UEFA Cup playing for Juve and Seville? Aren't they big enough? Just saw his miss on Sky though. Very poor.

Good result with game put to bed in 45 minutes; should have been 5-0 though, didn't Montero hit the post twice and Dyer miss a couple of 1 on 1 chances?

I still think Loriente is a decent signing, he's big and bulky, makes himself available and holds up the ball very well. Yesterday it sounded like he was left to cope on his own by a lazy midfield who didn't support. A lone striker has to expect his midfield to bust a gut to support him and, although late in the game, that didn't happening.

Glad Guidolin kept Montero on for the 90, he needs to get his head, and legs, to play for 90 mins, not 60. Not his fault, the way he's been used has made him a 60min player.

Sounded like van der Hoorn played well, only to be expected against league one opposition, no disrespect to them. We need to do something about Fernandez though imo, he looks jaded or unhappy and this is reflected in his form. Could van der Hoorn be the solution?

McBurnie has to be on the bench on Saturday, I think his performance has surely doomed Emnes.

Anywhoo happy campers, 3-1, no slip ups and plenty of good things to wrap up and take home.

Mine is both, neither are leaders and it seems the glue that held them both together has now left, we need to sign another leader who can actually run a back 4.

Llorente hold up play and touch is different class to what we have had up top, but unfortunately he just doesn't seem a natural goal scorer, I would trade his touch and hold up play for him being able to get goals. Lets hope Baston will be the one to get us some goals, if we ever get him fit.

Loriente is a grafter with the ability to score goals but he's not going to be prolific imo. I can see goals coming directly from his efforts though, that's if we can get our midfield in the box to support, a la Fer v Burnley

Guidolin is hinting at Baston's availability , guess we'll see .
Llorente and Baston , with McBurnie scoring in the weeds ....somebody pinch me .
If we can get our old game going , these strikers will flourish ...the final piece .
Getting a pair of CB's gelled and playing well , whoever they might become , is crucial IMO

I take little notice of past acievements as they mean sod all with another side ,,,,And if he still has that type of form then i dont see the big clubs interested that the only way of getting into the premiership is though a small club in South Wales.....<whistle>

<doh> If this logic is followed you may as well ignore every single player's past. Don't be ridiculous.
