Superb player for us, we just progressed quicker than he did. In the championship he is a massive asset. I personally thought he was good enough for a 2nd choice but hey ho wasnt to be

 

Good as an attacker, was a poor defender - should have converted him to an RM imo but oh well.

 

I liked RDL as a player thought that there was little differance between him and Simpson really! Both have their faults or weaknesses but a useful backup at RB. Good luck to him anyway.

 

Best of luck to De Laet, he played a big part for us in getting to the Premier League and played his part in keeping us up, and who knows what would have happened had he not had scored against Aston Villa last season to start to comeback

The time was right for De Laet to move on as I don't think he has anything to offer us anymore. While he is better going forward then Danny Simpson who isn't anywhere near as good defensively.

De Laet falls asleep often defensively and it gets found out too often in the Premier League but he will be one of the best right backs in the championship

 

Hope this means there's some cover coming in at RB! I hope he does well at Villa, he certainly contributed to a fantastic period of our history.
