Of course we need a failure like Monk <doh> , he has done well since he's been a manager of the club, so we'll let his points tally speaks for itself!

Disagree about the squad Dai, I think we have ample quality to finish mid table, but agree about Guidolin, I don't think he's good enough but we'll see. Not sure about him being a yes man either, I just don't think he's our man and I'm a little disappointed that we signed him. Six clubs before us, successful with only one, I think that's right, if so not a good enough CV for us but, like I said, we'll see.

I have read most of this and I watched the Burnley game on tv and could only get highlights of the Hull game and my take is that it appears after 2 games that this season looks as if it will follow the same course as last, with all the same problems last season re surfacing at the start of this season. I thought we were extremely lucky to get the 3 against Burnley and yet again as per last season we were unable to follow it up against a side who we are battling with to stay up. There seems to be absolutely no improvement on what we saw last year and I just think we are in for a long season. Amat was badly exposed against a poor Burnley strike force and should have been sent off and from what I have read (as I said I didn't see the game) it appears that Fernanez was against Hull. yet there is no movement in bringing a new Centre half in. I firmly believe we have the worst 2 central defenders in the league and lucky for us and them we have some talent in front of them but, they cant keep carrying them all season. We conceded more goals from set plays than any other side in the league last season and how does our first conceded goal come from a set piece, it appears that despite some saying on here Guidolin will sort it, the frailties are still there and we look as disorganised as ever at them. I have been told that the Goalkeeping coach is the one working on defending corners as he was last season and he clearly did a poor job last season and he is till allowed to make the same mistakes again. We look fine going forward until the last third yet again and I at the moment cannot see where the goals will come from, unless when fit Baston hits the floor running. So for all the talk, I don't see us any stronger than last season and maybe we look a little weaker with the loss of both Ash and Ayew. I have a feeling it could be a long season and if I were the yanks I wouldn't be spending to much on exploring the expansion of the stadium as I am not so sure we will need it.

I know it is only 2 games and there is a long way to go, but we just haven't strengthened the squad in fact we look a lot weaker especially in the middle of the back 4. I hope I am totally wong.
