Lighten up You Bastardised version of a Sub Normal. But thanks for proving my point.. Bulletpointing EVERY single line out of a sentence. Just **** Off.
We don't have to spend millions on marketing to become well known. That is done for us by Sky and BT as long as we are in the Premier League. If the takeover happens then we'll get huge amounts of publicity in China, one of the fastest growing markets for football. We'll get a fair amount of publicity in the US as well simply because a Chinese consortium has bought Hull City and what that may mean for their leagues. As to the badge. I don't mind it, in one sense its a constant reminder the FA chucked out the name change application. Its a badge confirming our success in protecting our name. How would people in Thailand know Manchester United are playing Hull City on Saturday without our name on the badge? They look it up, either through Manchester United's fixture list or googling the badge. Most people won't care who Manchester United are playing but a number will be and will go to the trouble of looking us up. A good performance on the pitch might, and I say might, make them follow our results a little more closely. My limited experience of marketing tells me if people look you up they are more likely to remember your name in the future. We have distinctive colours so we are not likely to be confused with another Premier League team. The only thing that will turn us into a world-wide footballing brand is winning things. However being known by a multitude of names, Hull City, Hull City AFC, Hull Tigers, Hull City Tigers and The Tigers will not help get our name known, whatever's on the badge.
He certainly would trying to debate with Waggy. I can't believe that anyone can be so thick as this twat. Can't think he has anything other than mud between his ears.
We have an opportunity to promote our club to hundreds of millions of people worldwide, but instead of taking it, we hope they all Google us instead. Genius marketing.
The Allam's are selling up - just as they said they would. Let's all be happy and look forward. But no! Wait! There's still the badge to argue about! Please just **** off.
Their logo is LV as that's their name (they haven't traded as Liverpool Victoria since 2007), it's completely irrelevant.
Long 24 hours though! Hopefully we'll put right all their wrongs when they've finally gone? The badge is just on a long list!
Erm, not a great example, it has the original company initials on there - Liverpool Victoria, with the V also doubling as a heart.
Does nobody else think, in this day and age, having no geographical position makes the club more approachable and supportable for people outside the Hull and EY catchment area? Not sure that's the right way to describe my point but it gets it over, sort of. I think. Maybe.
My point was about strategy, someone thought that the company does not need to use anything but this and even includes an equal sign in it. Marketing professionals get things wrong take Consigna as an example. I only know what I like and I like the badge to a certain degree, not as much as the old one, but I like it and I do not see it as a failure. It could have been better, but I do not think for one minute it will have any impact on our global presence. As I have said before, without the backstory it may not have been as much of an issue as it is.
LV is just a registered trademark and trading style. LV and Liverpool Victoria both appear on their documentation. Liverpool Victoria is the name of the insurance company and the group of companies.
OLM, Can you please start another thread named BITCHFEST!!! and transfer all this drivel into it please so we can read the 4 pages in total of actual postings about the new owners. **** it's a real love in on here isn't it.
Our club is already being promoted to hundreds of millions of people worldwide. The only thing that will get us recognised worldwide is to consistently win matches and trophies. Not having our name on the badge might attract some people to take more of an interest then they would if the name was on the badge. However having our name on the badge isn't going to give us any more recognition than it gives Watford, AFC Bournemouth and Middlesbrough and that is a drop in the ocean compared to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. Manchester City, despite their success, are still playing catch up.
