We definitely need a defensive midfielder. Someone with a bit of aggression in midfield. Meyler, Livermore and Huddlestone don't offer that.
With this start and the addition of 3 or 4 genuinely quality players over the next week I can see this team pushing for the euro places this season.
Should we be setting our transfer targets a little higher given our current occupation of a Champions League place
Yeah, I've seen him pull out of challenges on several occasions. We don't have a strong, aggressive defensive mid.
please log in to view this image Nikolic Nemanja not in the starting line up today or bench, is he on his way to us?
Just watching the Football League highlights...Oliver Burke at Forest looks an exceptional young talent. Forget Assombalonga...(who went off injured)...if the new owners are looking for young british talent get this guy signed up! Scottish international and Palace have already made an inquiry (£8m).
Phelan has been saying for a few days now "we've got bids in for players but havnt heard back from them.." We cant make the same mistakes that we've made in the past.. If a club isnt interested in selling or the player's undecided, move on!!! We've seen recently what a great team spirit can do, I only want players at our club that want to play for us. This upcoming week is massive regarding transfers. Players have seen what we can do with the small squad we've got, its now or never. Please dont wait until deadline day to try and get a few last minute, desperate signings over the line.. Like I said earlier, if the players we're in for arnt keen on coming to us, no worries, we move on.. There's a few quality players in the championship that would be worth chasing for a start.
I'm sure the experts need that advice. Not. Or do you think they wait until the last minute 'cos they never learn! I don't think we make mistakes, as much as not everyone is keen to come! It's harder work that just letting people dictate to us and waiting. I'm not sure a lot of posters realise it's far from easy.
Thinking about what I'd like our starting 11 to look like after the transfer window. I've liked the look of the 4-3-3 system so I hope with stick with that. New New Davies New Robertson Clucas Livermore Huddlestone Snodgrass Hernandez New Jones and Rodriguez on loan would be 2 excellent signings, add to that a right back (Yedlin) and a keeper and I think we'd be set.
I don't know why we would need 3 right backs in the side, I'd say senior cover at left back was a more pressing concern. Rodriguez on loan, Denayer on loan, Nikolic, and Moses Simon. That'd do me.
