I have noticed on a few other sites that Pompey fans aren't happy with us taking 50% of the gate receipts from the Havant v Betis game. Just wondered what peoples opinions of it on here were?

Myself, i can't really see a problem with it, it was obviously a deal that was made between the two clubs and Havant have gained an extra £2,000, that they would not have had. The fact that we are getting this money also only makes a little difference as we will still be left out of pocket. Also the Havant club secretary is happy with the deal so whats the problem.

I think this is just another excuse for some Pompey 'fans' to have a moan and i'm not surprised most of the comments are from The News website.

I think the other main issue among these 'supporters' is the lack of signings in the past few weeks. Ok we all recognise the need for more players to come in, but what is the point on getting on SC back about it, i'm sure and have every confidence that he is working very hard to bring in the best players that are available to us.

If all these people moaning actually spent time supporting the club we might actually be able to fill our stadium, as i can guarantee that most of these people do not turn up on a Saturday as they can't be bothered.

If an agreement's been made then stick with it, whether it's £2000 £2million or 20p

You've been reading all the comments on The Snooze site haven't you! I'd recommend either a Prozac, a pint of real ale or a big big big bar of chocolate to help you get over it (or all 3).

There's a hard core of about 20 on there who like to have playground punch-ups. The comments can be a funny read (with a big big bar of chocolate to keep you sane) but sometimes reading them makes you just want to cut your own throat, the most negative folk in town (and out of town) go on there. They've chased off the best contributors, eg Wildy, Laidlaw. Leapark Larry and Kenwright to name a few. They're just very contrary folk. If you tell them the river runs downhill they'll argue that water runs uphill.

I've seen them unite for 1 thing only - one of the posters let it be known that he's a member of the EDL and they gave him a very rough ride. Makes you realise that they're alright really. But still best not to take them seriously. At least that's my view.

I think it's a bit harsh to be honest. £2k might not be much to Portsmouth but to H&W, it's probably a weeks wages for the entire first team. Although if an agreement's been made, then it's fair enough.

TBH PompeyLapras I agree with you, but I would be very surprised if Pompey doesn't get some compensation from the catering company/airline/airport authority to cover their lost costs, in which case, agreement or not, it would be nice of CSI to let H&W have the lot.

OK my first post on here because after months of just reading people's comments I feel I must contribute. I am sure the Hawks have earnt a bit of cash from this one off game which was unexpected ( 3K) as reported, but under an agreement between the clubs they have paid Pompey a sum of the gate receipts. Seems only fair. We have done them a favour as they would not get 800 people for a friendly against another non league club which would have been arranged. It seems like we have ripped them off a bit, but this is business and if football wasn't like this we wouldn't owe spurs 1Mill . Seems everyone was a winner from this arrangement
