So does calling me a '****' get you banned from the forum (it is against the express rules) or would you have to call me a 'black ****' or perhaps a 'gay ****' for the mods to take any action ?
Just wondering , would it be ok with you if we had a 'hetro pride' march through Hull ? Would be inclusive and welcome all sexuality's.
It's simplistic to say it hurts no one. Some people are repulsed by bum boys and if everyone was a woofter, well, we would become extinct.
Indeed and to be fair, he'll know he's done wrong. Just needs a good talking to. He'll just have to take whatever comes his way on the chin. Like has been said, it's a shame the tabloids will have a field day.
I love it when these incidents come up, and the proclaimers of free speech take to the internet. We don't have truly free speech in the UK. We never have, and it's naive to think otherwise. If you think we do, go up to a copper and call him a **** to his face, or suggest that a business man is a liar and a thief. We have laws against libel and slander which go back years, we have laws against incitement to violence and racial hatred. You are free to say whatever you want, It's not like some countries where criticism of the government will be filtered out before it reaches the public ears, but if you do, you are also free to face the consequences of your choice of words. Something Mr Gray is about to find out...
Why would you want a hetro-pride? You do know the significance of gay pride don't you? Hetro-pride? What would it be a celebration of? You've not been persecuted because you're straight? You've not had the fear of getting fired because you're straight? You've not been mocked for holding your partner's hand in public. You've not had to come out as straight. You've not had to choose holiday destinations to avoid being jailed because you're straight. Gay Pride wasn't started as a celebration of being gay but to celebrate the right to live without persecution. Instead of asking why there isn't, or should be, a hetro-pride just be thankful you don't need one.
Er, it kinda does. It's not free speech if there are rules on what you can and cannot say. Free speech includes speech that is offensive and insulting. I'm bisexual, I don't agree with his comments for obvious reasons as I'm sure he'd consider me a 'gay'; I find his comments repugnant. Free speech is good in that it lets ignorant people share their views and so you can make fun of them later on. Anyway, I've seen people on here use homophobic slurs and strangely enough, the moralistic moderators haven't done owt in censoring them. Funny innit?
On a different note, just spoke with a pal of mine who is a Burnley fan and was at their game today, he said watch match of the day as their 2 goals are worth seeing.
