Patsys Castle Newton Abott 4.20 @ 6s. Dropped 8 lb from lto where he ran well enough before trying to take a fence with him. Plugged on afterwards. Morning, crew. A great day’s racing but from a personal punting perspective I do wonder if there are that many great wagers out there today. I was going to put up Stargazer in the card commencer at York but he now doesn’t go so instead I’ll nominate to the dear old regular readers LATHOM (5.05) in the lucky last. He really is weighted to win one of these handicaps but he’s one of those frustrating sprinters where everything needs to fall right to enable him to do so. Should that occur though I do think he’s much better than a 91 rated animal and current quotes of 8/1 are worthy of the ‘risk’ involved. The main, main, main one for the weekend is tomorrow though.
