Sunderland have been dealt ANOTHER defensive blow after Lamine Kone was ruled out with a back injury.Sunderland - set to lose Younes Kaboul to Premier League rivals Watford for £3.5million - will also have to do without the Ivory Coast international for the Wear-Tees derby on Sunday lunchtime. Boss David Moyes has confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Everton target Kone has been ruled out with a back injury. Papy Djilobodji, signed from Chelsea for £8million, will start against Middlesbrough, with John O'Shea likely to drop back into the back four. Kaboul’s exit is a major blow to Sunderland, who are also fighting to keep hold of his defensive partner – Lamine Kone. Their form was a key reason behind the club’s survival last season, with both starting against Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League season. Moyes has said he expects Kone to stay at the club this summer after Everton last week lodged an unsuccessful £18million bid for the Ivory Coast international. Sunderland have been linked with a season-long loan move for his ex-team-mate Matt Miazga. The 21-year-old American centre-back is not part of the first-team plans at Chelsea.
Quick, get Wes Brown re signed. Does anyone read anything into the 'Kone is expected to stay THIS SUMMER' Is it a way of saying he's going after the summer then?
**** me, we are ****ed. Do you think Ellis Short wants us to get relegated and the players keep letting him down at the last minute! Never had I had so much footy optimism savagely crushed in such a short amount of time. Everything and everybody suddenly seems to be working against us. Its about time we just shut our eyes and got relegated. Thats the impression I'm getting from the club anyway.
But that's ok Cause Ellis saved us, is a top bloke and we'll remain in his debt despite running us into the ground.
SSN have just said Kones refused his contract and he turned up to training with a bad back. What an absolute grade A twat!
Its like being in a earthquake and all of our surroundings are crumbling to dust! I'm expecting relegation now. All of this is bound to have an effect on the rest of the players who actually want to stay (if theres any left). Unless Short starts sanctioning £15 million+ deals then I cant see any way out of this. There is no way we can recover from this moral sapping beating.
This is starting to look like a bit ridiculous now innit, the guy signed a deal he was happy to sign little more than 6 months ago.
It wouldnt surprise me if Moyes just said to himself 'you know what? I dont need this' and ****ed off!
