    The local press had us pinned down for a bid for the Swiss winger Barnetta as a replacement for Barton.

    Leaving the whole Barton/Ashley issue out of this, what do you think of the player and what are our chances of landing him?

    If its true then he looks great, 3 top-class wingers plus others in the squad :D

    I'm a fan, and if the club really has been conspiring to ship out players like we're meant to believe by people like Barton himself, then I like to believe the club had a plan of who they want to replace them with...hopefully Barnetta is part of that plan

    I should clarify that I don't really believe there's a legit "plan", that said, I do believe the club is treating the sales as a 1-for-1 situation, so I actually do trust someone else will come in -- hopefully his quality.

    Doesn't mean I wanted Barton gone, though I do see it as inevitable, whether the club wanted to ditch him all along like he'd want us to believe? I don't know what I think about that

    sky acctually reported that there was intrest about 2 days before the incedent tbh so i think i could happen and if it did would be a canny signing

    He's playing in a similar league at the moment (Bundesliga) so there's a better chance than say, a spanish winger

    I'm afraid to say this but I would have him over joey barton any day of the week, barnetta can score goals AND make them, would be a great signing
