We have not in any way had confirmation that the takeover is going/will go through. We've had a third party comment that it may have progressed forward a little. Not until we have official confirmation by the vendors and the purchasers will it be final. Be patient & try to stop yourself from jumping to conclusions. When you've been standing at the station as long as many on here have, you may understand the skeptisism and humour of City supporters. It could even drag on longer
How can we keep threads on topic if there is literally no news regarding the owners? The current topic of the thread is trains, as soon as something happens with the owners, it'll be discussed here.
I don't blame you for missing the news with all the off-topic posts, but there has actually been pretty solid information regarding the movement of finances regarding the SMC that all but confirm the sale is imminent.

It was sarcasm. I really don't see how you can complain. You are the worst offender when it comes to derailing threads.
Perhaps that's why I'm complaining? I get no end of grief on here for side-tracking threads with on topic arguments, but the second I complain that a thread is completely and entirely off topic, I'm the one being a pansy?
Anyway I'm done talking about this. It's clear what the herd wants so there's not much that can be done, but it seems even pointing out the inconsistency of the mods isn't worth it.
Syd, I'd take you a bit more seriously if you actually engaged in the topic you seem desperate to maintain. As it stands, your contribution consists of about one comment agreeing with someone about speculation, and a bundle of whines that provoke thread cluttering replies. Absolutely nobody but you is stopping you having the conversation you claim to crave. Just get on with it.
