Just a thought, looking at buying a football club in England when you are based 6000miles away in China, you may be naive enough to think that when you buy a club the ground (stadium) is included. When at some point in the preceedings you realise it isn't you may be annoyed.
I 'm pretty sure there Is a company based here in the UK, that brokers deals and They , either , the Rep or the company would disclose all that which Is available to buy, at the very beginning of talks. Don't mess with the Chinese mindset, they are'nt clueless and very difficult to win back on side , once You've pissed them off. Collectively minded the are all very much thinking alike, and adhering to a code of obedience and behaviour, which is very different to Western thinking. For Eg' : Lets say you become friendly with a small youngish group of Chinese in the Street, You don't speak Mandarin, but they speak a little English. They all start to move towards a venue down the block. You suddenly suggest some place else. They will leave you behind and walk away, because of their mentality, that once they call the play, It's either their way or No way.
The potential buyers want our club and it's environs en bloc, they are investment and property people and will wish to ensure that their plans are feasible. They will wish to make money. They are not embarking on this exercise for the love of our club. Having said that hopefully any new owners will be an improvement on the current shower.
Not likely, these sales are done professionally by a broker not on gumtree or ebay. The broker will be given a glossy sellers pack (or knowing the Allams a coule sides of stapled A4) which will contain details of assets held, revenue, and projected earnings. Any potential buyer will have known that the stadium is not a "business asset" of the club, but that we have a lease hold and pay XXX (or in our case nothing as OLM points out). There maybe something in the info pack about the stadium been potentially purchased, and you would like to think the SMC was covered also (though appears not given what happened with the American bid), though with the SMC been a separate business this could in theory be sold seperate (again I guess this has been negotiated into this deal).
Didn't realise that sorry. But it is still unusual for the club not to own the ground not many don't, and it seems the Yanks didn't know it was a seperate deal.
It wasn't that it was a separate deal it's that at the last minute the Allams added it as a separate deal so that it would suddenly cost £6M more to buy the SMC Separately.
No worries. With some many rumours flying around its hard to know what to believe. I try and use a bit of commonsense. The Chinese will have seen the financial accounts as they are publicly available. They will know the stadium doesn't belong to the SMC. Once the deal is signed and approved by the relevant authorities we'll find out what they intend to do about the stadium. I can't believe I'm still this patient and relaxed.
I just want to see some incoming players. We are absolutely desperate for reinforcements. We can't expect the players to put in another shift like Saturday without using subs.
The best sunday league teams play 10 - 11 players half cut from the night before for a full season with hardly any injuries. I'm no sports scientist... just think out side the box.......
Expectations are so low now we'll be glad if the club just gets some bodies in. Literally just some bodies.
