Arca was moved back there from mid-field and did well, our two loan players Alonso and Rose were also excellent, PVA is hot and cold, he seems to be a slow starter who needs a game or two to get up to speed, his interplay with Khasri can be electric, but they both seem to be misfiring atm., lets hope they soon get there eye in and start doing the business, This weekend preferably.
Yes he did. Martin Scott was very good in the LB role. I think he preceded Julio Arca or Micky Gray. Can't remember which
Its a poor tally, we did have some decent home grown custodians in the past, Bolton, Pickering and Venison all played there, if my memory serves me well
a lot of players had stints at left back after Danny Collins left for Stoke. we never replaced him for about a decade instead giving shots to Bardsley, McShane, Ian Harte, Nos (probably), Higginbotham, Ferdinand, Hutton, Kilgallon, Titus(?), Wayne Bridge, Dossena, Celustka, Alonso, Reveillere, Vergini, some right backs, some centre backs in there and one or two actual left backs.
I loved Arca there (and just in general), I think PVA is going to do a great job at LB too. Bit of a rough diamond but there's a quality player there.
Always maintain with PVA glue he can't stick to his position (pardon the pun) to be a top class left back, going forward though he is up there with the very best, I'd hate to have to track him back as a winger.
