City's clash with Newcastle set for landmark crowd.

    • Lansdown Stand upper tier set to open against Newcastle
    • Further ticket sales delayed, further update to follow
    • City will attract largest crowd since the Atyeo Stand opened in 1994
Further ticket sales for City's Sky Bet Championship clash with Newcastle United (August 20th, 3pm) have been delayed.

Demand for the fixture is extremely high after Lee Johnson’s side kicked off the 2016/17 campaign with three straight wins, the latest being a stoppage-time 2-1 success at Burton Albion yesterday.

During the online general sale period all tickets across the stadium were snapped up.

The club is aiming to release tickets for sale in the Lansdown Stand upper tier later today, with a further update to follow. We apologise for any inconvenience this delay causes.

A small allocation of Lansdown Stand lower tier have been released for sale, from 10am -
online and by phone to 0117 963 0600.

Please note the club will not be able to accept requests to move seats into the upper tier, except from season card holders in the lower tier who can request to move into the upper tier (equivalent price bracket) by phone only.

Newcastle have already sold out their entire allocation of tickets in the Atyeo Stand.

It means City will top the 20,007 that attended the 1996 Bristol derby, which previosly stands as the highest football crowd recorded since the Atyeo Stand was built.

Meanwhile, tickets remain on general sale for the home game with Aston Villa, to be played on Saturday, August 27th (3pm).

Allowing for segregation we've got to be looking at a gate of around 25,000 hopefully.

Build it and they will come as the saying goes.

The club really needs to sort itself out rapid.

Newcastle at home on Saturday having won our first 3 games and if we get ANYTHING at Norwich tomorrow, it pretty much will sell out.

    Just open the bloody stand...!
