It shouldn't have to take a dreadful result like this for him to spend money. He is always too reactionary and never makes changes when we actually need to. How is that a sign of good management? He gets paid £8m a year to do....what, exactly?
Amazing how Arsenal started the match with 2 kids at centre back and a winger up front. Its almost as if Wenger's being willfully ignorant. He needs at least one CB and a striker. If he doesn't make these signings before the end of the window you can kiss your title hopes goodbye. Pathetic!
This raises a good point. Forget about signings for a minute... What does Bould actually teach the team during training? Do we actually work on defence and tactics? Liverpool looked so much sharper and fitter in the 2nd half. There's just no excuse for poor preparation, we had enough senior players out there to win the game.
A home loss is the perfect result really... Will really gee the boys up for their next game to stamp their mark on this league season.
Would you be happy with that Ging? Top four every year with no chance of winning the PL or CL? What's the point?
Which helps because......? We've had these discussions many times before. Qualifying for a tournament is not a trophy.
I'm more embarrassed than ever that Sanchez and Ozil have to play for us. If they didn't sign a new contract and left on frees I wouldn't blame them in the slightest.
I ain't wumming but Wtf do fans turn up to walk out after 60 mins cos they are losing in the FIRST game of the season? If that's what having a 60 000 stadium does then there's a part of me that wishes we weren't rebuilding the Lane. Arsenal would be better off if the plastics just ****ed off and became Leicester fans...for this season
Not justifying it as I would not have done it...but I think it's the fans easiest way of showing their disapproval. One think people forget is that Arsenal fans get the SAME THING season after season. They're simply just bored. If we had a different manager I don't think people would have walked out. If the board would have shown some ambition for one season, people would not have walked out, but it's just the same thing over and over and over again. No signings, no manager change, no ambition, no direction. End of the day it's the fans own money and they can choose to do what they want with it...
Yup, problem is though, as long as they pay to get in, the club does not give two ****s. You get the impression, once they have paid, that the board do not care how long they stay, whether they boo, whatever kind of banner or chant they use.
I don't get why they pay their money then in the first place tbh. But what would they be like if Arsenal had a season like Chelsea did last season? Or if they had a run of being **** for several seasons on the trot?
We have been **** for the last several seasons on the trot. Chelsea were horrific last season, but compare their last decade to ours (multiple domestic cups, league titles and a few European trophies), having one bad season in the grand scheme of things isn't really catastrophic. We've had pretty much the same season for the last ten years. Same problems, same deficiencies, same concerns. Players don't seem to be keen to join us, we always have injury crises and we don't spend money in the market. Nothing is ever done to rectify any of this.
I don't dislike Arsenal but I would like to see you have a really poor season (mid-table) just to see the reaction of Arsenal fans my age (26) who have known nothing but relative success and the threads of a certain American poster.
I don't get how how 2 fa cups in 3 yrs and constant top 4 finishes constitute Arsenal being **** for several seasons on the trot tbh.
We're not ****, far from it. But we are frustrated that we just keep repeating the same mistakes season after season and never really push on.
