Ah, but that´s something quite different, gandy. Having a thirst and desire to get back there after having tasted it once or twice before, is natural for some, but there are also some ( and plenty of ´em) who think our rightful place is up there ( which it isn´t), hence the ´sense of entitlement`, so welly is quite right.
There are plenty of 'big' clubs (yes I do consider us a 'big' club), who perceive their rightful place to be in the top flight. Just because the likes of Leeds, Forest, Wolves, both Sheffield clubs etc have ****ed it up over the years doesn't mean that we should have to accept failure. As long as we have 'fans' who continue to believe we are 'little' Norwich because they remember us languishing for years in the lower leagues back in the 50s and 60s, this football club will never realise its full potential.
Plus Naismith justified his (exorbitant) fee by showing he was signed as a striker, not an AM. And, as we all know, strikers always go for heavily inflated prices
I'm holding out until December for my cut price shirt there is no way I'm shelling out £73.000 including p&p.
He did drop a clanger. Was lucky a defender was there. Don't think he did anything Ruddy wouldn't have done.
Sorry to disagree with you (again), but I´m very afraid this club´s full potential, is doing what it´s been doing now, for the past many years - a couple (max) of decent years in the PL followed by a relegation one, then a year or two down here before a repeat performance. I´d say our ´rightful place´ if there is such a thing, is in a league somewhere between the two. But certainly no club has a right, or should feel entitled, to be any-particular-where, that just shows a smugness and an arrogance, not really worthy of a decent club like ours.
Poppycock, if we had wealthy and ambitious owners this club of ours could compete with the very best everything else is in place other than a larger stadium. What happened last year at Leicester proves my point, I am truly sick of all this 'family club' bollocks
Felt like a loss to me as we were so poor, by the way did you and Gandy manage to find a room last night?
I'm not exactly sure how fit he was, only played about 60mins of preseason before that. Wasn't great but we know full well he can be much better that that, would be a massive over reaction to judge him solely on that performance. Stomach injury apparently. Not seen anywhere if he's expected to be fit on Tuesday.
Fine KIO, you keep on believing it if you want, ít won´t change my mind one bit. It´s also crystal clear that you´ve been sick of our family club for ages, fortunately family club and community values, are some of those that have been most prevalent in keeping it afloat since 1902, without them, and our current owners, we´d have been dead and buried years ago.
RBF you won't change my mind either, time stands still for no man. I can honestly say that if a billionaire Chinaman wanted to buy out Delilah and Whinge Jones tomorrow I would be ecstatic, unfortunately that ain't gonna happen, well not in the short term anyway. If you can't beat 'em join 'em
I don't see why a few on here are so totally averse to any sort of takeover, RBF? It doesn't have to end in tears, there are many that haven't, and it would propel us to the next, sustainable level. Instead of continually being good enough to get there, nowhere near good enough to stay there, we could then maybe emulate Southampton, for example, as a top flight but provincial club actually forging a path ahead
Thing is, three teams i.e. 15% of the division, have to be relegated each season. Southampton will go down soon. Then they'll be back, then they'll be relegated again. It's cyclical for almost all teams, including us.
I'm not sure of the figures, but I'm guessing that of the clubs bought by wealthy owners about 60℅ go on and become successful, others end up like Portsmouth, Blackburn etc.
