This has just appeared on the #saintsfc feed on twitter. Could just be bs, but fair play to the club if true.

Key points:

- AM incoming to break transfer record, but selling club playing hardball

- Possible first choice CB being considered

- Fonte in the dog-house for what he said to Portugal press and trying to force a move

- The club won't sell him, but if tension continues he may be demoted and captaincy will be passed onto someone else

 

Great news on points one and two ( hopefully Siggurdson from Swansea) but sad Jose is following in the footsteps of so many others before him. Glad club putting foot down. Shame to see a possible club legend upset everyone and join the ranks of previous assholes

 

Would significantly break our record though? When saying significant are we saying 20m, 30m?

 

Not going to do a lot for team spirit to have a demoted captain in the dressing room, but neither can you ignore ill discipline (IF ANY OF THIS IS TRUE). Torn between wanting to put foot down on someone who has just signed a contract and not wanting trouble in paradise.

Won't be Siggurdson, he just signed a new contract. The first point still fits with the whole left sided attacking player story put forward by ITKs this week though.

Sorry I meant would siggurdson break our record and when they say significant do they mean 20 or higher. I would be very impressed with 20.

 

I generally stay pretty calm about transfers, both incoming and outgoing. But after seeing Walcott, Lallana, Mane and Chamberlain score in one game I need a big signing just to cheer me up!

All of our academy and back room / training staff should be proud at how we improve players.

 

I hope we spend whatever it takes to get the player we need. If that's a Hojbjerg-esque fee, great; if it's £20m, that's fine, too.

 

Indeed. Just would be great if we could get to a point where we improve the players and keep them together.
