Why is this happening ?, how do we keep starting seasons like this ? frigging on goal beats us, pathetic. That is because Moyes did not get a right back in for the friendlies, but them crosses should have been cut out it is unbelievable that in the friendlies that was happening, and last season and still it goes on, Boro game plan will be get down the right lads they don't make a tackle or block shots, too easy.

Agreed, shame about the own goal but I saw many positives in that performance and we have key players to come back.

Disappointing not to get any points but looking positively - if not for a penalty and an own goal, a team like ManCty (favs for title) failed to score against us and without those we may have won.
At least we went down 1-2 away to City, rather than 1-2 at home to ...............

I thought we were very unlucky today we deserved a point.

I was surprised with moyes team selection especially JOS in midfield. But with the injuries we have and lack of players in the squad we didn't do to bad. I hope we get a few players back from injury/back to full fitness this week and maybe one or two new signings.

On the whole something to build on.

I bet you found it puzzling that both City's goals came from their right wing which is our left back area so I reckon by your logic we should have played two left backs and not bothered with a right back. Problem solved.

One debutante, three players who only arrived on Wednesday or Thursday, a CEO who's been here a couple of months, a manager who's been here a couple of weeks (after one of the most disruptive close seasons here since 1957), O'Shea in midfield instead of Kirschoff and M'Vila ... versus Manchester City (who could afford to rest Toure and Hart) at the Etihad! Jesus Christ - and we lose to an own goal (where the ball hit the player, rather than any outrageous error on his part) three minutes from FT?

    Well, I'm frigging delighted.

We were 1-0 down after a couple of minutes with a team containing a back-up RB & a makeshift Midfield.. I for one am pleasantly surprised that we didn't capitulate. Yes, it was disappointing to lose to to a late OG but there was enough on show today to give me hope for the season. A few new signings coupled with the senior players and up & coming youngsters will put us in good stead for not just this season but for the foreseeable future :emoticon-0148-yes:

We lost to City, at City, by one goal.

No indication of a bad season to come.

Let's not forget their pen came just after a goal kick which should have been our corner.

More positives than negatives in my opinion. Feel more confident for the season ahead. Unlucky with the OG it just hit his head and went in. Yes we were under pressure from the start, but even after the pen, didn't cave in, gave a good account.
