As long as GB are in with a medal chance, I love any sport. All are interesting in their own way. Synchronised diving was good to watch, but I also enjoyed dressage, archery, and trap shooting. I find it amusing when a grown man celebrates wildly after winning a point in ping pong. And team cycling in the velodrome is quite frankly scary. Love it all.
Some people have swum out to a winning boat...commentator said they will be sorry tomorrow. Presumably they will get Copacabana revenge.
I remember watching the synchronised swimming in London, and that's pretty scary. They spend fairly long spells underwater while doing some quite physical stuff, I've no idea how they manage to hold their breath let alone be doing half that stuff. This was the British pair then:
Gold on the way in the women's rowing. Amazing display by GB. Ooh got a bit nervy at the end. Gold it is.
What a terrific high jump competition in the heptathlon. Katharina sets a new British record to finish equal top with the Belgian athlete. She tops competition after 2 events, though has 2 poorer events to come.
What is Murray up to...won 1st set against a US player 6-0 and lost 2nd set 6-4. I think he loses concentration....dangerous to do in best of 3 match.
Murray broken in third set by Steve Johnson (apparently been at Wimbledon, but I've never seen him). Andy hasn't looked good in previous matches....have to see if he can scrape through this time. Not looking good.
Ireland win first medal today. Rowing silver for the ODonovan brothers. .Their interviews are well worth a watch
Murray through in tie break. proving yet again that yelling 'You stupid idiot' at the TV screen is a valid coaching technique.
Good recovery and win by Muzza. Anyone else take a look at the ball "boys and girls" and think "They must have been sent along by the Brazilian equivalent to the Jobcentre"? I'm sure, towards the end, one of them looked at Murray as if to say "You throw that towel at me again, and I'll deck you".
And the stewards were letting people in at the wrong time...the commentator said they need retraining.
