I see, so like, will they pay it in one go or in installments, selling on fees and buy back clauses etc.
Soo Wenger just ruled out us signing another striker.(Liverpool press conference) ‘I don’t count in numbers as squad too big,’ said Wenger. I am looking at no other areas apart from centre back, it’s about quality. ‘If we find top quality, I will strengthen. Firstly, The guy is totally delusional and the board are feeding his delusion. Last Season we created more chances than any other team but came fourth in terms of goals scored. What does that tell you?.. well it tells us our forwards are not efficient enough. In particular Olivier Giroud. We have a huge squad yes.. So sell some ****ing players!! Chamberlain should NOT be at this club anymore. Walcott does not give us value for his high wages. Plus he would gather a decent transfer fee should we sell. Akpom is he really going to bed a TOP striker.. I doubt it. Sanogo and Sczezney.. How the **** are they still Arsenal players?! Now it looks like we are now after Mustafi.. he's s decent defender yes but he's also another small ball playing centreback. Haven't we learnt from.. Gallas and Toure Vermaelen and Squillaci Vermaelen and Koscielny Koscielny and Gabriel ...This doesn't work!! you cant have two small arse technical CB's in this league. Now I'm one of the more optimistic Arsenal fans but FFS.. We need a change. #Wengerout
Indeed, if you look at the two most successful partnerships in PL history, which are Terry and Carvalho and Ferdinand and Vidic In both cases you have one defender who is stronger, has great awareness and positional sense and will throw himself at anything (Terry and Vidic) And to compliment them you had a ball playing defender with pace who will track the runs of the pacey forwards, nick possession and distribute the ball to midfield from defence. (Ferdinand and Carvalho) Also no coincidence that Terry and Ferdinand were a great defensive partnership for England. You know....till they became sworn enemies.
I wouldn't read too much into it. Clearly we've been trying to sign a striker, and it looks as though a deal could still be made for lacazette. Wenger is notorious for giving confusing remarks to journalists about transfers.
Really? Because normally he says he doesn't need to strengthen, then he doesn't strengthen....doesn't seem that confusing to me.
As I said, we've clearly been in the market for a striker this summer. Wenger follows up that comment about only being in for a CB with 'if we find top quality, I will strengthen', so that tells me we're still in for a striker.
Not so sure about that. I think he wanted to but he doesnt want to pay a ridiculous price so now hes come out with not needing to strengthen
Basically the same thing he has done every year since he sold RvP to United. Makes a half arsed bid for a new striker (Suarez, Vardy), it gets rejected, so he thinks, "**** it, we will stick with Giroud then", then doesn't bother looking at anymore strikers for the rest of the window.
Wenger could say anything and the Wengerites would back him and say 'give him a chance, the windows not closed yet'. Then it's 'well we've not signed who we needed but give him til end of season'. Then it's 'but no-one else could do what he does'. Repeat year after year.
What makes you say that? Vardy is the only forward we know Arsenal have actually enquired about. Lacazette, Higuain etc.. could well just be social media hear say.
It's weird, he kinda picks a striker, then if he doesn't get his first choice, he throws his toys out of the pram and refuses to look at other options.
Lets be honest Chamberlain would not still be at Chelsea/City for example if they signed him 5 years ago! The guys averages 2 goals a Season. Apkom there's nothing special here. Sanogo is a donkey - I doubt he'll even make it in the EPL. Walcott is on £130,000 a week. He's a good player but he's injury prone and as an Englishman would fetch a good transfer fee. Debuchy. Again on high wages and well behind both Bellerin and Jenkinson. Sczezney. He's a trouble maker. Roma were interested in signing him permanently but he's back on a loan deal. Shift this lot and buy a ****ing striker.
Thats about £60m worth of players that you could free up for cash, right there. Heck you could even put in the extra £10m and buy lukaku
That's always been the case. Seems we always have a few targets if we cant get them other options are not looked at. I think Morata is another genuine target (as rumours have been around since he first broke into the Real side) but Arsenal are obviously put off by the price tag.
I'd agree with all that except Debuchy, I think he's miles ahead of Jenks and would be great to keep him as back up to Bellerin if he was willing to be back up instead of seeking first team footie (can't blame him though).
A bit out of the blue but we've been linked to Barca's Jeremy Mathieu http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-shkodran-mustafi-linked-with-emirates-switch
What would people say if we actually turned around and signed Wilfred Bony? Personally he's not what I want or think we need, but if a lot better than nobody or just relying on Giroud for the whole season. So if no one else is available then it's better than the worst alternative, though I'd still be very peed off.
