Why not post the actual statement he's been sent? He wrote it out on notes and screenshot it? Behave man. You'd screenshot the statement surely? No sense whatsoever.
If that's a true statement from Kone, then fair enough. Moyes doesn't want him, That's clear. So whovever wants him has to pay through the nose!
He must be asking for far too much, or theres something else complicating things but god knows what! Cant get my head around why we wont give out a contract to our best defender. Utterly deflated and fed up!
I don't know how he can claim that he is not part of 'future plans' when he is still under a 4 year contract. Yeah.....I think hes being a mercenary but playing the victim......get rid, at the very least £20 million please!!!
It is odd but there's no way a Sky Sports journo would just make up a statement. I can't see past this being legit - makes sense with Kone having his suits with him at the AOL today. How is he? His employer promised him a new contact and have now reneged on it... I'd be fuming if that was me. This is a million miles away from crying over a birthday cake. Our club is a shambles. Short is a penny-pinching ****.
If you had no intention of selling him, you'd have told us he's not for sale, given him an improved contract - end of story However, you've seemingly not offered him anything, were willing to allow him to talk to us, and it therefore appears obvious that Moyes wanted to use the cash in other areas. This smacks of your club telling him that despite their apparent willingness to sell initially, he'd have to hand in a request in order to go, thus avoiding any loyalty payments, and makes him look like the bad guy with your fanbase. Only, he's done that whilst issuing that statement which clarifies his position.
His boss promised him a new contract and left before giving him one. That's not Short's fault, Short shouldn't have to action Sam's plans, Sam left us high and dry. He's banging on about wanting to stay but requesting a transfer as a bigger contract is more important than staying at SAFC... Then don't stay for me. He should be getting his head down and earning a new contract under Moyes. Greedy, lazy option instead. I can't be arsed with all of the media posturing a la Yaya who has banged on about new contracts every ****ing summer.
I'm with your way of thinking. This should have been done behind closed doors, but as Tobes said never once has the 'not for sale' line been used. Our club is a massive pile of steaming ****.
After reading his statement (if it is his statement) it's all down to greed. As much as I love Kone I would put him up for sale for 25m If Everton come back tell them 25m or 18m and Kevin Mirallas If no one offers the money he did say he would still give 100% and he has 4.5 years left on his current contract. If the club give him a new deal after all this BS other players will do the same thing. His agent is at fault for this what a **** Again a statement from the club would Be fantastic. I would love to know the clubs side
****ing PR disaster. We can't just buy people. We can't just sell people. I'm critical of Short but this doesn't fall solely on his head for me. If what's reported is true I think, as ever, he's a clown, Kone is a greedy little **** and his agent is a snake like any other agent. Feel a bit sorry for Moyes inheriting this mess.
I've seen his English. It isn't that good. Agent prepared i say and handed over to the press. This agent is one of Big Sam's muckers, go to agent for transfers. Thank **** Kone is the only player we've got on our books with this guy.
Pretty apparent that Ellis and Sam had a massive row at the end... Starting to feel like a parting gift from Sam.
If he didn't want him why not just accept the £18M? Three simple options: 1- Cash In and move on. 2- Give him improved contract. 3- Refuse and make him Soldier on. Too early to say what's going on. Let's just see what Moyes says before/after tomorrow's game. Either way what an appalling
Everyone is saying we should pay him what he wants yet although he played well from Jan, he has only done so for 4 months. I think it's too early to give him more. If he wanted a definite raise it should have been in the contract. Keep us up and.... Etc. he didn't keep us up on his own, without Defoes goals we'd be down, Kirchoff etc.
