http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sunderland-defender-lamine-kone-wants-8600102 Do we want him, don't we want him....... who ****ing knows. To me this all looks like a way of getting a better contract.
Ellis Short. I don't believe it's always down to our negotiating team. It has to be Ellis. Still, 3 weeks left of the transfer window, before I vent.
Think his agent is playing an absolute blinder TBH! Here's how I see it: I truly think he was verbally told he would get a new contract by Sam. With it being a verbal agreement, the club have nothing written to say it has to happen and, therefore, probably have no contractual obligation (hence no offer - if the club were involved, it would've been written into his existing contract surely?) He has now come out on TV and said the club have not offered him a deal (although the papers last week advised that the club had - proving, once again, that the papers know **** all about the situation). HGe also says he wants to stay in the same snippet of a clip. Everyone has seen this now (everyone interested anyway) I know for a certain fact that the club have staff who monitor forums, message boards, twitter, facebook etc. gauging fan opinion etc. so there is no way the club are not aware of it. This should, by now, have got back to Ellis Short who should be on the phone to Martin Bain telling him to get Kone signed up. (Fingers firmly crossed!)
When asked whether he wanted to stay he said 'Yeah'. Thinking about it, what else was he gonna say? No!? If he had have done I would have expected some very angry Sunderland supporters very angrily clinging onto the back of his bumper as he hurriedly drove off! Much rather like this scene from Terminator 2 (from 24 seconds onwards)
Thing is tho the greedy prick is on a 4 year contract and he's pulling this days before the start of the season what a ****er in my eyes
If no contract offer is on the table at present, if he had any sense, then he should just knuckle down this season and continue with the sort of form that he has been producing. Then by the end of the season (or even in January) a better club than Everton with more money to throw about would probably take him off our hands. However typical of todays players and agents they are too anxious to make as much money as possible here and now.
