Punt landed today and reinvesting in the shape of BECK AND CALL 11/8 Salisbury 2.20 Yard looking to win this for the third year in a row and this filly looked smart on debut. Her trainer Henry Candy is just finding form. He has several interesting runners tomorrow.
Chaps, I had a bit of a shocking few days last week so not been on much. First of all my wife has had to bring a discrimination case against her employer, that same day she was involved in a car crash when some one drove into the back of her on the motorway and then the following night I was woken at 2.30 am by the sound of a brick being thrown through my window in the front room. As I got downstairs I was saw two men, one in the house and one trying to steal my car. Luckily when i ran outside sporting a pair of pants only intended for personal viewing, they both ran off. They took a laptop, iPad and cash but didn't get the car. The police were more bothered about some oak barrels i had in the back garden so i'm not holding out much hope of getting it all back. The CSI fingerprint guy that came round the next morning told me he'd been to 4 houses that morning in the West Yorks area and it looks like they'd been stealing cars to order. What a bunch of scum bags. Anyway, after a stress relieving treble at the weekend that returned a big fat zip i'm back to the well to see if i can catch a Michael Bell horse on hurdles debut. Taper Tantrum runs in the 2.10 and is priced at a general 7/2 this morning. For a horse rated in the low 80's on the flat i think they've found a reasonably weak contest and i'm reasonably hopeful on a decent run.
Blimey Bob, what a set of scum bags. It worried me how little it seems to matter to the police these days. Hope you and wife are okay mate- chin up
Yeah Bob, hope the Mrs is OK, laptops iPad can be replaced! Hopefully your tip can show a change in luck for you. Well done with the wine show!
I thought my luck was out when the misses took the sump and main frame out of my pride and joy last week. Chin up bob and get some security measures in place.
Awful news Bob. Hopefully a quick recovery for your wife and yourself. Not a nice thing to happen. Good luck with your horse today and everyone else having a go also.
Shocking news Bob, hope you are both ok. Thing is if you caught one of those scumbags and gave him a clip around the lughole you would have been carted off to the cop shop and banged up for a day or two yet the police will let these scumbags continue to rob those that graft for a living.
Don't let the bastards get you down Bob, hopefully they will get their comeuppance one way or another. Hope the wife is OK too and that you have a nice change of luck today with Taper Tantrum
Cheers boys. The wife is fine. Not sleeping much but generally okay. They picked their day as well because we had my 3 year old niece and 6 year old nephew sleeping over that night! Might write a script out of it.
As an aside in the 7s Japan are a huge price at 11/8 with Ladbrokes to beat Kenya. Japan beat NZ and should have drawn with GB.... those results both on merit and fully deserved. Kenya were comfortably beaten by both GB and NZ so really cant understand the price at all. For further interest add in France to beat Spain (2/13), SA to beat Aus (1/5) and Argentina to beat Brazil (1/50) and you have yourself what i think is a nice quad.
Best wishes to you and your wife, Bob, not a nice thing to happen at all. Nasty scumbags, hope they get caught. Good luck with today's pick.
Awful luck Bob! They do say things come in three so fingers crossed your luck is now turning! Hope the wife is ok and you have some winners to take her out for dinner etc..
Couple sparked my interest today, so will play on these. The Way You Dance, Newton Abbot, 3.10; hoping flat form and promising showing on a trio of jumps starts makes this a good entry into handicaps First Bombardment, Beverley, 5.00; recent Newcastle performance and C&D form increases confidence Good Luck all.
Sorry to hear that Bob. I can't imagine how stressful it must have been but there's more good days than bad ones. Keep your chin up. Salisbury looks a nice card to focus on. Takatul in the 3.20 looks a cert in my book. He was as green as cabbage when winning off 78 on his handicap debut. He is only up three pounds for this. He is not much of a price so I'll be doubling him with the Candy horse in the first. I don't often bet on amateur races but Richard Hughes sends Wahaab as his only runner and the claimer on board has a reasonable record with him. In the Listed race I'll take a chance with Chain of Daisies. She is the only horse to have won at this grade. She was fourth in this last year but that was a tougher renewal with Journey winning it. She has to give weight to the three year olds.
Sorry to hear that Bob. It's a worry having your house broken into. Hope you are all OK. Be on your alert for a while as some robbers return to collect the brand new replacements
