I'd be interested to know how many players Klopp brought through from the youth system at Dortmund? Goetze is the one I know but pretty sure all the others were bought from other clubs.
Klopp doesn't do youth players. He buys cheap players, makes them good then sells them on to bigger clubs. He fits Liverpool's new zero net spend modus operandi to a tee
Shame they couldn't manage it in competitive league matches. BTW it wasn't me saying it, that was the excuse from Livpl fans why Klopp ended up finishing lower than Rodgers last season
It is funny that all the hype and jizzing on Kloppyflop's appointment has completely disappeared. Could it be their 8th place in the league, err, a massive improvement from the previous season with Rodgers? or could it be their flops in the cup finals, especially the last one when Kloppyflop managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? The optimism seems to have disappeared. They urgently need a boost from somewhere...
Rather surprised that Zidane kept saying that he was still interested. Normally the Real do not declare their hand especially if they are likely to lose. They said this time they wouldn't give up till the very end. It must be hard for them now not to have the most expensive player. Apparently they've had the last 5. They had high hopes of selling James for 50m-60m and bidding for Pogba. But no one was interested in James at that price.
They must think that everyone else is stupid. Sell a guy that they consider not good enough for more than they paid for his services. SUURREEEE!
Seems Pogba still has lots of friends at OT and was well liked. http://www.skysports.com/iframe/wid...dHGxG1e#ooid=l4MXU3NTE6nJQDw5XGoS-kPH6dHGxG1e
Real madrid have many stars and icons same as Barca .. UTD is no.1 club in world according to some financial soruces in terms of fanbase worldwide, or at least top 3 , we needed an icon .. an image to be associated with the club to milk our fan base
Man Utd got some catching up on Chelsea still though. You lot spent about double we have in the last 10 years.
Just watched the first Pogba interview on the United web site, I must say he come over very well and sincere. He seems genuinely happy to be back at the club and he is either a very good actor or there was no scripting at all. Feel better about this deal now, I never wanted it to happen but I think he really wants to be here and improve. He says at one point "I want to be one of the best", for me that is a good sign because those that say "I want to be the best" usually have way too much attitude and not enough application (Ronaldo excepted)
Summary: I jumped on the Liverpool bandwagon in the 80's, I endured SAF's success but assumed the Glazers would destroy United, I was certain Klopp was the Messiah and am now totally disillusioned at the fact that mid table and competing with Palace is the best Liverpool can hope for Thanks for contributing Bitter Dipper.
Klippity does cool sound-bites though, if he fails that should keep him in the job a few extra months
