    Rumour ratings: Balotelli to QPR; Schweinsteiger home-bound

    On a quiet day in the transfer market that was dominated by the news of Paul Pogba finally being granted permission to undergo a medical at Manchester United, there were whispers that Diego Costa and Bastian Schweinsteiger are on the move, while a high-profile striker is set to arrive at QPR.

    Mario Balotelli needes a club, and QPR need a striker. This one is transfer gossip 1+1= transfer stuff.

    Speaking after his sides 3-0 win against Leeds on Sunday, QPR boss Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink revealed that he still wants an extra option up front.

    “We are still looking for that striker,” said Floyd-Hasselbaink after the game.

    “Hopefully we will bring some more in, because we need that help and need that competition.”


    Rumour rating: 3/10. Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Mario Balotelli is unlikely to start for Liverpool this season and a switch to West London for the troubled Italian could be a great move for both parties. However, it’s unlikely that Balotelli will see a move down to the Championship as a good career move.

    We could pay 30% of his wages ( I think we might be able to afford that) and Liverpool pay the rest, everyone has done exactly that to us with our cast offs over the last couple of seasons... I'd prefer Remy on a short term loan deal till Christmas, I think he needs some game time to get himself in the shop window and he probably owes us too...

    This talk of Balotelli or Remy is just crazy. Three questions:

    Why would they want to play in the Championship?
    How could we pay their wages (even a fraction)?
    Why would we want to go back to having overpaid mercenaries at the club, when we seem to be developing a young, motivated, committed squad (Sandro excepted)?

    We still have the FFP arbitration and possible fine hanging over us like the gallows. Les Ferdinand has been careful in his statements to impress on all, that QPR runs a frugal ship.

    Taking on Balotelli would sink it.

    If we wanted a talented but lazy striker then why would we send out JET who isn't completely bonkers/disruptive and is actually ours?
