For once the Daily Fail is quite handy, written in March 2015 this lists all the Italian players in the Premier League (up until it was written):

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...r-feature-Premier-League-Ambrosetti-Zola.html

Arguably I think we could move Balotelli to the MISS section now...

As we are on about Italians that played well in the Prem:

    Cudicini
    Di Canio
    Di Matteo
    Lombarbo (bald eagle)
    Maccarone
Mannone is now a good keeper.
    Pelle
    Ravanelli
    Carbone
    Vialli
    Zola

Probably more, but can't be arsed.

Well ok say if you added the pogba and Ibra shirt sales together I'm fairly confident that would pretty much cover or be very close to 89 million worldwide.

What I'm saying is the price united pay is really irrelevant because they're guranteed to get it back.

Much as I like that goal, I would say Balotelli is mine. Just because he is completely insane.

It's not irrelevant because it is money that could've been spent elsewhere. For the price they are paying for Pogba they could've signed Kante and 2 other 30 mil players

Not if he has a serious injury they won't. Just to be clear I am not wishing this on Pogba just making a point.

That's they're decision, we could of got 3 Charlie Austin's for the price we paid for Osvaldo.

Di Canio is also insane. Utter mentalist, brilliant player.

Tempted to say that must be an Italian thing, but then Mick Channon is a bit nuts, Glenn Hoddle is borderline bonkers, and Paul Gascoigne is right off his head. Perhaps that's where England are going wrong lately; none of the players are proper barmy.

Di Canio is the wrong kind of insane though. A complete racist nutter who likes being a thug. Balotelli the the stupid kind of insane "outdoor fireworks are safe in the bath right?".

Eh? Have I missed something? You can't just throw another player in the mix. You said they will get the money bag in shirt sales from signing Pogba. I simply asked if they would really sell 1million shirts with Pogba on.

Your logic above makes no sense. They have Ibra without paying 89m and get shirt sales from that deal without Pogba. Now if it is believed they'll sell 1 million shirts with Pogba on then absolutely, they get their money back. I was just asking if that is likely or not.

So projections show that in his first season Pogba is expected to earn Man Utd approximately £40m in commercial income.

At the end of the day people can say whether they think he's overpriced or whatever but no one cares because none of these people know his true worth to a club like Man Utd. Also worth noting, that Rio Ferdinand & Veron were both more expensive signings than Pogba, in relation to Man Utd's turnover at the time of purchase.

Thanks for that. It would have been good to see how they break that down, but good to see numbers put against the commercial values.

Yeah it would, but I don't think many clubs would issue such a breakdown for a good number of reasons. I trust Man Utd would have a good idea of what to expect in terms of commercial revenue, the £40m may be a long shot, but even if he earns them £20m per year over 5 years he would have more than paid for his fee, he's a ridiculously good player too, which seems to have been lost on a few people because of him having a poor Euro 2016 & the world record transfer fee.

Think you're underestimating how marketable a player Pogba is. Could get to Beckham levels
