The speculation on Facebook, Twitter, 606 and every other message board, is just that opinion, the Allams have said nothing regarding managers, or players, they have only hinted at a sale so even that may be red herring. If I was Allam and selling the club for the maximum I could get, I wouldn't appoint a new manager or buy any players, why would anyone spend money in advance of a potential sale, that would be giving your own money away before the contract was signed. If I was the new owner, I would have a manager and players lined up in advance of signing the contract, that's assuming it goes through before the end of the transfer window. I suspect there will be a few twists and turns before the weeks out, and let's all hope we don't have to protest on Saturday
Could be like a game of poker with these possible new owners. The Allams doing **** all to force their hand into paying the price they want. The longer this inactivity goes on, the more worrying it is for the new owners investment. Who blinks first?
Phelan will definitely take it if offered, he's desperate to be the bride, rather than just the bridesmaid.
Surley the longer it goes on the lower the price would be, if they buy us with the next transfer window been the their first we could be as good as relegated
I can't find any reason why, having stayed after SB walked, MP would walk now. I would think his contract has some perks, but why that would shade an opportunity to manage and influence a newly promoted PL team is beyond me. He's had a fine career, but this is something else, any B-class pro would jump at it; MP is no more than B-Class and struggling at that. It is hard to read the Allams and their commercial manipulation, but I pretty much sussed these two berks 2-3 years ago. Here's my take on this sad affair: They want to sell. They blew the Yanks through greed and bad practice. They regret that- maybe, more accurately Assem does. Ehab took control and has been found wanting at a very critical time; he's not up to it. Assem has to sort it and, despite my dislike for him, I believe he will; the timetable is another thing. Bruce was between stools. He really wanted another chance at the PL, but he knows he is now a world famous Championship promotion man. Despite the desire and honesty of SB, Assem could not convince him to work with his odious sprog. This will play out okay; riches and egos are involved. There are always folk wanting to step up - players or managers - let's not make this a Doomsday scenario, it's just boring and frustrating. Time to change tack. No collaboration - I don't change on that - suffering fools gets you nowhere, if for more than a brief acquaintance. Key thing now is support the team. It is now common coin what sort of owners we have; the media are fully on it. Supporters need to enforce that (the point is made), castigate the owners and their lap dogs, but love your team and show it. Aye, go to games, buy **** all, but be proud and be above the mealy mouthed owners, who embarrass themselves, not us! Now is the time for the Trust to use the duplicity of the owners against them; push for attendance and use the media to admonish the entire Allam family at every opportunity; it will get the result we all want. As folk from Hull, we should all recognise the tide is on the turn - use it wisely.
Ehab shot past me down West Ella Road in his Range Rover Turbo heading towards his old mans. Went passed AAs house and there is clearly some activity as there are a couple of other Range Rovers as well as Ehabs motor. Could be kebab night mind.
If there are buyers out there wanting a PL club, who else is there? But if they dont get in quick there wont be anything to buy. But there is all that PL money. Thats very attractive. All these new owners arent doing it for the love of it.
Jeez i didnt think id see the day when a man would turn down such a gigantic pay rise. Just shows the level our owners have sunk to.
Yes but what I'm saying is, if and if we are worth 100 million now. We haven't played a game and still got the core of a half decent team and the remainder of a transfer window. Come September we've lost a few or all the games, Hernandez has gone maguire has gone and there's no transfer window for nearly 4 months, are we still a good buy and are we still worth Allams 100 million valuation? I don't think we are
But we havent spent the. money!! Thats why Im saying the Allams want them to move now not September. Force their hand. Lets face it we're all scratching our heads
Yesterday burnsy reckoned he'd heard the yanks had offered 90 million up front and another 20 in instalments. Why the **** didn't they take that !!!! Pair of cranks
Assuming Bruce gets another managers job, do you think he would ask Phelan to join him? If so what would Phelan do if he is already City's manager.
If you don't believe our owners are working very hard to sell then you are deluded. Success is a different matter. They have done the 'in your face' stuff and they are **** at it; now they need calm, space and Ehab sent on errands. Problem is, they have made it a buyers market, when it really wasn't. The family have a bottom line and will find it will reduce if they **** about anymore. Not insider info, just commercial common sense.
If he's already City manager then he won't be leaving to go back to No2. Bertschen might. If Phelan got the sack half way through or at the end of the season, he'd then have manager on his CV, no matter how bad he did. It's no different to when Brownie stepped up with us, he'd done **** at Derby, but saved us one year & got us promoted the next, right place, right here time. How many times have regular people with regular jobs been like that & got promoted? It happens!
Not the best kept secret, either. Last season I sometimes questioned Phelan's input, as it was just not evident. I heard from someone that we were not a happy ship and the management team were not strong. There are occasions when player comment reflects this. Any new manager needs to be a very strong character. I'm glad SB has gone; it's the first part of the healing process.
