Sorry but to call man city classless for outspending and try to justify your own buying your way out of league 1 and chanpionship as initial funding is ridiculous.

As for staying true and classy, whilst still one of the better clubs in terms of spending you havent promoted any youth really in the last couple of seasons, you boo half of the players and managers who did really well for you but left (justifiably so in most cases) and you lost a lot of love (although it moved you to the next level, sort of like citys hiring) when you fired atkins for no good reason at the time to replace him with poch

Our slight hiccup in promoting youth was part of the reason for not fighting too hard Koeman's decision to exit in fairness.

I completely agree. I feel like those who are repeatedly instructing everyone to "remain calm" would still tell us to 'remain calm' if we were pushed in front of a train, they don't seem capable of accepting that we are in a less than ideal situation.

Without at least one more attacker, I really don't see where our goals will come from. Certainly I can't see us scoring enough to mount a strong challenge for Europe.

In fairness Shane has been brilliant in 2016 and I'm sure he'll pop up with a few goals, although he'll never be a 20 goal a season striker. Besides him, we have Rodriguez who hasn't had consistent minutes in over 2 years, and is looking extremely rusty this pre-season. By all accounts, Austin is unlikely to feature much this season as he does not fit into Puel's style of play. Nor do I want to rely on Redmond for goals, a winger with a reputation for lacking a consistent end product.

A squad with these 4 attacking options (plus Tadic) is, in my opinion, mid-table at best. We should be aiming higher than that.

We were pulling in gates of around 20,000 in League One, so obviously we could spend more than the other clubs. Our spending in the Championship was mainly funded by Oxlade-Chamberlain's transfer money and we weren't the top spenders that year anyway.

Bobby, you are of course entitled to your opinion, I am calling City classless for the way they approach most aspects of how they conduct themselves. I have attempted to justify my opinions as I see them-to you they are ridiculous but you don't really give a substantial reason.

I did clearly say that I didn't like the way we operated in the early years after the takeover, the ruthless way Nicola Cortese did his business was questioned by many fans and other fans supported what he did. Ultimately, he fell on his ill judged sword and I don't think that many fans rue his exit now-but may be wrong.

I've mentioned my thoughts on the academy in previous threads, our rapid rise has left a bit of a vacuum in the academy and our "production line" has slowed recently, but only in comparison to ourselves. The Fat Lying Dutch Ginger C£&t wasn't a fan of Targett, but Ward-Prowse, Sims and Turnbull have flirted with the first team it played a reasonable part.

As for my feelings when players have chosen money rather than development, they speak for themselves. Lala was guilty of badge kissing and leading fans up the garden path that he was staying-when he was casually being tapped up on England duty along with Clyne. His form has been patchy and Clyne and Lovren's form has both suffered since they moved, of those two, Lovren shot himself in the foot twice by claiming he was better than he was and by claiming he'd stepped up in terms of club-he got shown up. Personally, I'll stop caring about players once they've chosen to leave, with few exceptions.

Like I said earlier on, I'm sorry if you don't like my opinions, but I say it as I see it.

You need to read properly, calm down and just relax. Your conversation started by saying you want a striker now. The person who started responding to you said that we're fine for the first few games. We still have time before the window closes.

Now go get a hold of yourself and either relax or start to read what people actually write.

I don't think there is anyone saying they don't want another striker, but lots of people saying that there is still 3 weeks to go.

If Jay and Austin are seen as being fit enough, then we won't get another forward. We are still looking for a attack mid/ wide man or two and maybe a cb.

I am completely capable of understanding our position. Just look back at our position this week one year ago and two years ago.

This is why I tell people to keep calm. It takes time and it's not football manager. Every ****ing year people lose their heads before the windows up.

A small part of me wants is to **** this up once, just once so all the bed-wetters (yes, please do be offended) can reall let go and have a right old "told you so" about it.

There are three weeks to go!!!!!! Sometimes these things take time! Ask Everton, West Ham, Hull, Man Utd, etc, etc. Just be patient and wait and see. If nothing happens, then get in the queue to complain about it.

    FFS!

And to continue to try and play the devil's advocate role, during this period through to 31 August last season, we dropped points in three out four games and got knocked out of Europe. And during this period through to 31 August of the season before, we dropped points in two out of three games.

Now I personally am quite relaxed, and confident that we will sign someone (at least one) before 31 August, and we won't all be complaining in November (which we will be with the current squad, I am sure). But that doesn't mean that I'm not a little hesitant going into these games. Dropping points to Watford or Sunderland would not be a good start, and could be vital points dropped. As I said earlier, every game is important not just those beyond 31 August. So even though I'm personally calm, I can't totally understand why others might not be. I don't see why they need to be shot down.

But yes, if anyone thinks that we'll have this squad only come 1 September, I think will be proven wrong.

I only shoot down when I get accused of having a go or smeared, like I did earlier. If people question me about that, then I'll come back at them. Being hesitant and calmly posting about it is different to the want, want, want approach.

There is a big difference St Brendy.

Well try and respond without abusive language then. If you have a problem with my view, let's discuss it.

Don't see what the issue is.

    Here's my view:

Each year we have managed by the close of the window, to put the right squad together and have a good season (actually an improved season). Each year people moan before the window is up complaining about lack of signings.

My view is people should wait and see before worrying or complaining. What's your response to this?

I'll also add that people should start to realise by now that points can be dropped against anyone in this league. Look at us last season against Villa and Norwich.

It's not your view or opinion that's the problem it's the way you put it across. Telling people to get a grip or calm down or don't lose your head etc annoys people, it comes across as an order. No one on here as the right to dictate what people must do or how they must feel on a certian matter.

Maybe they shouldn't be so sensitive then. It's not an order it's a comment. I can't order anyone to do anything but it's a way of talking on a forum, like a figure of speech as if you were down the pub. Don't take it so literally. If people can't deal with the that maybe they should... Oh no, hang on, better not upset anyone.

You post how you feel on a public forum, expect people to reply. Some will reply in a manner you like, some will not.

I post perfectly normally most of the time but then sometimes I post aggressively when something winds me up. That's life.

Would you speak aggressively to some casual you started chatting to at the bar though? Probably not.
