A few weeks, FA fiasco over,SA forgotten. Santon. Sakho. Pah. Big Dave is the man to move the club forward. Thanks Roy Hodgson for screwing it up. Shame the FA ****ed around so long but hey ho. Short gets his man eventually, now back him please. Looking forward to the footy starting again more than ever. Much more optimistic.
I'm with you mate. Firmly believe Moyes is a perfect fit and could be long term, and that's what we need. I have concerns over the lack of investment but it's not killing me yet, all I need is M'vila and I'll be pretty relaxed, I only see Palace of the main teams I expect us to be around buying really well anyway. We need more but I don't think what we have is weak, we just need some depth and 2-3 quality additions, which I think we will get
Agree 100% as well Comm. Could be a bit of a blessing in disguise. Don't get me wrong I really liked Sam and what he'd done last year but people claim he's got a ceiling of mid table, I don't see that with Moyes. I'm sure they're working their bollocks off behind the scenes to get some more players in this week.

I thought Big Sam was the man to at last bring some stability and take us to the next level..Hopefully Moyes will carry on and build on the solid foundation that Big Sam has laid down..
I've got some doubts about Moyes but I'm totally behind him and he has all my backing - after reading why Papy.. came - feeling very positive with a dangerously confident mindset - not too good while supporting Sunderland - - onwards .... positivism back

Three points from our first three games I will go a long way to convince me that the optimism detected here is well justified. Loosing Big Sam was a massive set back, but Moyes could be just the man to carry us forward, in what is going to be a difficult start to this new season. Onward and upwards.
With the way Sam had turned this club around, his signings, the way we were playing football, he had the crowd bang onside. I feel he was going places and in an ideal world, I wish the England fiasco never happened, and we just carried on from where we left off, with Sam leading us into this season. It hasn't worked out like that, and I'm pleased about Moyes and his ideas. Don't know how anybody can be happier with him than Allardyce, though. We haven't kicked a ball in competitive football under him yet. We are back to the unknown, Sam had given us stability.
Sam's legacy following his short time with us is team spirit, enthusiasm and belief. Those last three games showed just how the players and supporters were at one. They know that supporters will carry them so long as they put in a shift.
One thing's for sure we owe a lot to Sam. In a very short time he laid strong foundations for us to build on. Better than having a supposed world class manager who didn't have enough about him to keep us up and is now in charge of a club in an uncertain position. It could have been us too but it wasn't and I believe we're going to crack on now under another very good manager.
Spot on for me this. ^ Would have been very happy if Sam had stayed. Improvement, progress, the signs were there. The FA came calling and that was that. imo Moyes is at least equal if not better and progress may be gradual but I think he`ll do well
Like everybody else, I obviously hope Moyes does well. Posters think he's going to push us up to mid-table this season, fair enough. I'm cautious about it. We know what happened with Man Utd and Real Sociedad, at Everton I'm pretty sure they were down at the bottom in 3 of his first 4 seasons. He's a manager who will build a club, if he is given the time. Our fans probably won't be happy if he has a start similar to his last 3 jobs.
We do need to be patient and if it takes 2 or 3 years so be it, **** me we've waited long enough. Progress is a boring season, but then are we really incapable of competing with the teams from Everton down? There's very little in the league below 7-8th.
I echo the other sentiments on here. The only way to give your team a spine is to stick with a manager imo, upheaval has blighted us. We've got to give him time even if it get worse before it gets better.
