I am quite excited about the signing of Borja Baston. But, please don't build him up so much, then if he doesn't score in a few games everyone will be moaning like **** that he is a waste of money. I hope he will score goals and his record will suggest that he will. Give him time.

If he and siggy can link up well like siggy and bony towards the end of his time with us I can see him getting a shed load. Seems pretty decent in the air aswell so Jeff better start practicing his crosses. The one I'm really excited for is barrow, his pace is phenomenal and hes got a good cross on him.

All I am saying, lets cut him some slack, I am sure some were saying the same thing about our last strikers before they signed and we all know what happened there. this guy is still young and may be able to get a shed full of goals and I am excited by him signing, but lets wait and see how he does before everyone hails him as the next messiah.

Plenty of time to build the statue outside the stadium.

Ok so if we do sign baston for a record transfer fee how will that affect people's view of our new American overlords and their motives? I personally see it as a good sign, nothing to get too excited about but it shows that they have listened to the fans and are not scared to spend a bit of cash. The imminent Ayew deal is an exceptionally good bit of business if you consider he doesn't really have a place in the starting line-up save injuries.

I think Llorente will be our main striker with Baston as back up. Llorente's hold up play looked promising yesterday and he's only going to get better with time for us.

Yea saw that 55282, disappointed if true. would have been a cracking transfer window with Llorente, Baston and Chadli

Not that disappointed if we don't get Chadli. Who would he displace and he wouldn't want to be a squad player with us which is why he wants to leave Spurs.

I personally dont think it says anything. We have reduced the wage bill. Got circa 4m for eder. Circa 6m for paloschi. Expecting 20m for Ayew. Even if we dont sell Ash. 15M for this new guy. 4.5m for fer.2m for new defender. 6M for llorente.

The transfers are pretty much cost neutral so absolutely no investment in the playing squad so far.

I still remain unconvinced by the close season transfers. 31 year old striker with so so goal record. Boja seems more promising. Think 20m is light for Ayew imo. 4 strikers out 2 in.

Sorry not convinced but hope proven wrong.

If he has a buyback clause and ends up being that good, he won't be here long enough to require a shrine :(

Eder, Palo, Ayew will have brought in about £40 million.

Technically, they still haven't invested a penny into the squad.

You're either poor at maths or value Ayew at 30 million, which is it? <whistle>

What we spend this window, s exactly what we would have spent if they hadn't bought the club. So I don't believe for one minute they will or have invested in the squad. As for Chadli just see him as a waste of money, where does he fit into our squad, he isn't a striker and like Ayew is a winger with no pace who cant go round a player, we already have better at the club.
