YIKES !! ....35 million for players that cost under a million and played very well for us . Only good wishes from me and massive financial Thankyou
I I don't care stereo , maybe players or infrastructure or help buy Liberty ,not losing a ton of money is more important to me than making money .
LIVE Swans 1 Stade Rennais 0 Almost a second for the home side as the clock ticks down, but Jefferson Montero's shot skids across the face of goal
FT Swans 1 Stade Rennais 0 It's all over at the Liberty, where Francesco Guidolin's men have made it five wins in six pre-season matches thanks to a 70th-minute goal from substitute Jay Fulton. Fernando Llorente got 58 minutes under his belt ahead of next weekend's Premier League opener at Burnley, with the new man in Guidolin's attack producing an encouraging display. The Swans dominated possession almost throughout, and might easily have won by a more comfortable margin. Llorente hit the post in the first half, while Mo Barrow rattled a shot against the bar after the break.
I hate dominating for most of the game and only scoring one goal by a sub on the 70th minute.....It shows we stll have a problem of finishing and this side we played today are no more than league one standard........Fulton has to be included more as the youngster had a good pre season and knows how to score goals.....Loads of preparation to do before next week especially on finishing our biggest problem last season.....
You weren't at the game then, Llorente hit the post when it was harder to miss and a lovely curling effort from Barrow hit the bar , Montero squeezed a shot wide and the keeper made a cracking save to deny Fer ( who was imo MoM) ,all in all a satisfying result and one that gives the manager more ideas of who's going to start the season .A couple additions one being a RB and striker and we're pretty much done .
Neither side created a great deal in fact Fab didn't make a save , whereas their keeper had to make a few and let one in , on another day the score line would have reflected the chances we had , we played a new striker today bearing in mind he only signed yesterday and a recent U21 striker so I wouldn't be too down hearted based on todays game .The game change on Barrow and Montero coming on and a decent ball into the box gave us the goal so more positives than negatives for me. Van Horn looked like he's fitting in with the squad and some of our midfield play was excellent with Fer being the stand out player winning and linking up play ,if he continues with that sort of commitment then he's in for a good season.
We were saying on another day last season...The fact is our finishing needs to be improved on or we will be punished by lesser sides with good finishers.....
I'd like to see Kingsley start the season, he offers far more than Taylor, it's time to bench taylor in my view, Van Hoorn looks very solid and relaxed on the ball, another bargain signing there for sure. Nathan Dyer was back to his best today great wing play and some nice crosses into the box too............
This game only highlighted that we are still having problems with finishing and everything else is the same. We were lucky the opposition were poor as well.....
Yes out of the two starting wingers Dyer looked like he had something to prove doggedly winning tackles and taken the game to the opposition , no real end product but he did manage a couple of tidy crosses which I expect the manager will have insisted they all practice especially now we have a 6 foot + target man .Kingsley surprised me with his free kick which just went wide so he seems to have another string to his bow although I don't think Siggy will give that role up too easily .
