you are right in that it' a game for the full house not to build a pattern of play nor get the full side together in the last weekened before the season.

because anfield is closed we have to go away to going away within england aint bad though.

the mainz game seems just odd as odd can be, to me anyway... I'm going to assume no players of the likely 18 man squad for arsenal will go there.

I don't understand the Mainz game at all. Didn't understand the Roma game either. It just seems like games for the sake of games to me. I'd rather have 3 games where we play our first team in all of them for 60/70 minutes rather than 6 or 7 where we just play a mish mash of players and formations and end up learning nothing.

3 pre season games in the North West of England and do all the work on the training pitch, imo at least...

Might have been a condition of signing karius that we pencil in a friendly with them and that was only chance we had to get it in before season started.

Possibly. Plus the MASSIVE connection between Klopp and Mainz.

Wouldn't mind watching this one but I've not got Sky Sports and my PC is dead. I'm not buying a Now TV day pass for a friendly either.

The Reds round off their International Champions Cup commitments against the Spanish giants, with kick-off set for 5.15pm BST.

Georginio Wijnaldum features in Jürgen Klopp’s midfield alongside Emre Can and Adam Lallana.

Daniel Sturridge misses out due to a slight hip issue, while James Milner captains the side.

Liverpool team: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Wijnaldum, Can, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino.

Substitutes: Manninger, Henderson, Grujic, Moreno, Brannagan, Origi, Ings, Matip, Stewart, Wisdom, Markovic, Randall, Alexander-Arnold.

    -

Lallana, Wejnaldum and Can in midfield? Concerned about balance!

I'm not a big Henderson fan but I think he's better suited to a midfield 3 than 2.

Strange to see him left out.

    agreed
wonder if it is because JK expects us to play 4 2 3 1 next sunday and wants Can and Wijnaldum to be the 2 so aims to get them more game time together.
    slightly worrying that squad tbh.
need injuries clearing up and defender(s) signing asap or the start to the season which already looked difficult could be a bit painful

Mobdro app on phone? I use it a bit after Page pointed it out. Think you have to go directly to their website to download now as Google kicked it out of their lists..

I think it would be a Can and Wijnaldum midfield, with Lallana, Mane and Coutinho as a attacking trio behind Firmino.

Hate Firmino upfront, no pace and not the same understanding as an out and out striker.
