The reality is we are **** and all this Bullshit about championship experience is TV fabricated horse ****!! You need good players it's as simple as ****ing that
Fulham beat one of the top 11 at home last season, previous year lost 5-0 and 5-1 to the top 2, good to know that we aren't going up already, such a shame. Lot of damage needed putting right before Benitez came in. Awful year ahead if we are losing to ****e like Fulham and struggle with teams players like Matt Smith. It was embarrassing.
Well I cant hear you, I have my head shoved well and truly up my arse again you see. I was wrong, I admit it. I allowed myself to get carried away. I should have known better, after all, this is Newcastle United, the team that has let me down time after time. I will now approach every game with a air of pessimism and resignation, keeping my hopes and dreams hidden away where none can see or hear. Next up, Toon vs Hudderfield..... 1-2.....!! That better?
Fulham had a bad season last season and have a good home crowd and it's a small pitch. Stop being arrogant
What expecting us to beat a team who beat one of the top 11 at home last season is arrogant, looked a good pitch to be playing on to me, should have been our easiest away game of the season.
Are you forgetting our away record over the last few seasons? No away game is easy whether it's in the league or cups no matter who we play, just saying.
Fulham had Jokanovic in charge; he's an excellent manager and he got the players properly fired up. We also made some errors in selection, but there's nothing Rafa can do about disastrous performances from Colback, Dummett and Anita. What we must also expect is for opposition to raise their game particularly early in the season. We need a good performance vs Huddersfield to springboard from; if we're able to get a couple of dominating victories in August, then you'll find teams will have fear rather than anticipation when Newcastle turn up. The slight concern is most teams are going to play us defending first. That means sitting deeper and will make it more difficult for Gayle or Ritchie to find space. We have to balance it up and have a threat on the left side else most teams will just focus on Janmaat/Ritchie. We also cannot have two mule's in the middle - Hayden is first choice, Colback is back-up. They're DM's. They need to sit alongside a comfortable ball player, which has to be Shelvey. Ahead of them we have to accept that Perez isn't ready, or is more CF than AM. Whether that's Diame or SDJ, we need someone more threatening and less likely to give the ball away when we're on the front foot. LM is a clear issue as well, Aarons was OK but is still learning. As it stands it's impossible to gauge the effectiveness of the strikers - at the Cottage Gayle didn't get a sniff, with the best chances falling to Ritchie and Aarons. I still think we should have gone for Forestieri before the first game, I think he'd cost about the same as Gayle but is a better player. I also don't really like the fact Gayle's the No 9, doesn't sit well with me. Personally I think we'll dominate the league eventually. But don't be surprised if we haven't won a game by September.
If that happens there would be more chance of us going down. Friday just showed what a desperate state we were last season due to McClaren's management.
