    I remember sitting in anfield once down annie road end and watching utd warm up and rooney basically ping everything top corner, looked awesome and then when game started he missed everything... and i mean ****ing EVERYTHING.

    That's alright but thanks. It had been coming, he'd been gradually deteriorating in a rest home for nearly two years with dementia and other problems. Sad but it's a relief for everybody involved I think

    Yeah, think it was quick ultimately but there have been things in the build up that sounded pretty nasty for him, couple of infections and a fall where he broke his hip as many oldies do.

    Yep, good genes obviously. Probably will skip a couple of generations now <laugh>

    He was in WW2 in Europe in a couple of theatres so saw some sights during that I'd imagine. We think it changed him though and made him very difficult
