just been looking around at the forums. well according to a lot of the toon fans they are going to walk this league,some saying they will hit 100+ points. Are they in for a rude awakening I think so. let's be fair Newcastle and Villa are going to have cup finals every game this coming season. Every side is going to want to put one over on them. Every side is going to have full home attendances,and the away games big big away followings backing their team. Are they right to think it is going to be a walk in the park,personally I think they are in for a rude awakening,will they finish top,not so sure. Top six is a must for them otherwise they could end up finding it hard to get out of the division. One thing for sure this is as hard a championship as i can remember.
Think Newcastle will win it but it might not be as easy as they think- Villa, I am not so sure about. Got a good manager now, depends how he moulds them. Both going to be very strong and with great support.
They won't get 100 points, however I think they'll win the league quite easy, they have a class team and will probably walk over some teams
But in all honesty that is the football we need to play in order to progress. Every home game needs to be a cup-tie type atmosphere in front of 20,000+ crowds for us to compete and survive.
But won't "this every game is going to be a cup game" and "sell out crowds" the same as Man U? If I was them with their team and manager I would be the same thinking they will bounce up. You just got to look at all the league predictions that we've made on our board. Everyone who has done it all predict that Newcastle will win it.
Rude awakening for them I think... I don't rate Benitez, certainly don't rate him in the depths of these waters and he's a manager that needs world class players to do a job. Don't rate Di Matteo either, Villa won't make any waves this season. I'd be surprised if they made top 6.
they are in for a nasty shock this league is so much tougher than the last time they graced us with their presence i must be in the 0.01% of football fans that cannot see them finishing in the top 6
I think they will walk it. If we took even 2 of their squad players our fans would be screaming about guaranteed play offs!

I reckon they'll win but not too easily. As for Villa I can't see an immediate return purely down to the shambles last year.
You sure about that Redprint? They are losing to Fulham, who were relegation fodder last year... I'm telling you Benitez has been a joke for years now. The squad he has is worth over 200 million and he is losing to last years relegation candidate who have just lost their best player.
They certainly got a shock tonight,there will be many more to come. Nothing to fear,watch Benitez pressure grow after 5 or 6 games if they are struggling. Well done Fulham.
