Quite simply we are a piss poor squad (not team). Add to that Severall injuries.

Expect new players BUT not match fit, not part of whatever system, we may start playing end sept, beginning of October. Same every year. So for sure catch up.

I am fed up of checking these boards, 24 pages of nothing re transfer, 15-20times a day.

not long to season start, pre season almost over, sorry for pessimism.

I look forward to coming back in mid September and saying I am wrong.............

I still look at most of the signings that other clubs (not the top clubs) have made and the only person I would have signed was Townsend. I havn't heard of half of the others. I don't want us to panic buy. Get the right players not any player.

I was peeved that M'Vila wasnt signed at the earliest opportunity, well before Allardyce's head was turned. Yedlin was somebody that I was not too fussed about (I think many of us felt the same). I understand fully why we have not signed Yedlin yet, probably because we were not gonna sign him in the first place. However now that the season is upon us I would take him in a heartbeat. In general, the only thing that we may have dropped the ball on is M'Vila. Other than that our situation, which was taken out of our hands by the FA, is to be expected.

Looking at that graphic - I can see maybe one player (not including the palace ones) I'd be interested in (Fer) and even then - the rest would hold no interest to me. Ibe for 15m? Seriously? Watmore is better than him so he wouldn't improve the squad when he's no better than one of our fringe players.

It's easy to deal with players that are not wanted or for silly money on average players - deals are getting done. Who would want any of those mentioned on here for SAFC?

I'm quite underwhelmed by many of those signings by the lesser clubs.

Glad we didn't have them on our 'Players In'!!

So you think Moyes wouldn't want at least one of those two, that maybe could have been sorted long before the speculation.. I get that new managers have different ideas and fancy different types of players. But am almost certain at least Mvilla would be a no brainer. Only my opinion.

Agree totally, even if it takes to the end of the transfer window. Quality not quantity... Although we may need Quality in Quantity :)

how/why are we restricted financially ? Chelsea and Man u are not although Conte or whatever they call him is boasting about winning the title !. It seems to take an age at this club to get a quality player signed, why ?

Don't forget that we no longer have a DoF and didn't have a chief executive in until recently. SA was the sole responsible of transfers, which meant we got some decent players in but also means that we didnt have anyone to step in and take charge of the transfers once he left.

Transfers of quality players take time, look at Manchester Utd and Pogba, that saga is still going on.

I would much rather go for quality over quantity. We have signed some dross over the years. Graham, Vergini, Coates, Rodwell, Buckley, Altidore, Toivanan, Bridcutt, Jones and I could go on....

Sam got it 100% right in Jan: Kone, Khazri and Kirchoff on Permanent deals, Ndoye on a loan. It worked out perfectly, 1 went and 3 stayed.

Let's get it right this time round too.
